I wouldn't give up until there's proof he's no longer alive.

For people who can't/don't have children, these ARE their children, it leaves a hole in your heart when you don't know where they are.

It's always good to be hopeful, but sometimes pets are dead.

Although it has been almost a year since I lost my dog and I still find myself glancing found dog ads and checking websites every so often.

I would search for a week max. If not found, they are either dead or someone took them. Sad, but realistic.

My dogs are truly my kids. Who would ever stop looking for their kids. Dogs are part of our families!

My pets are so very important to me and very much my children I would NEVER give up!!! I would look for them FOREVER!!

If my dog was lost, I would be out day and night looking for her; she's my baby and I would never stop looking.

I assume the "Never!" means you should never stop searching? That's what I think.

People can, and DO, love their animals as much as others love their kids. I know I do, and I would look forever, if need be.

I really think more like a week or two, but that wasn't an option. Spending "thousands?" That's a big NEVER.

Depends on your neighborhood and climate. Without easy access to water, lost pets won't make it more than a few days.

Should have been an option for 3 days! Our cats have always come back - unless they were found by kids and kept.

I had a dog that ran away to die. I'm pretty sure that was his intention. It was over 15 years ago, and it took about 10 for me give up.

That's it...NEVER. I still look for any sign of my childhood dog when walking in the old neighborhood. Can't help it. Love never dies.

My Princess is our maltese toy poodle mix. She is as valuable to me as my children.

A family members dog got out first week of August... we are still checking, not as many sighting, Never give up hope Ruby will be found...

I'd always hope and watch for my furbaby, but I'd also be willing to adopt a new dog or cat. Too many need loving homes.
