It is time for Jon & Kate to have some privacy and attempt to save their marriage and then move forward in whatever direction fate leads them. Their children need to be out of the limelight now -- I've noticed they do not smile anymore. Very sad - Jon & Kate please get your priorities straight for your sakes and your childrens.

Most people that I know became uncomfortable watching last season's shows. It is too painful to watch these two people destroy their children's lives anymore. This show needs to go OFF the air. Kate would never be willing to give up the money or the spotlight but for the sake of her kids, that is what needs to happen

I agree, that doctor was terrible. They should have portrayed both sides of the argument, but instead it came out looking more like a blatant attack than just an interview. Today Show lost some respect points this morning.

I agree that the doctor seemed uninformed and Matt (usually my favorite) wasn't being fair. John and Kate have talked about their filming before and it is not "24-7" as they reported today. It is very scheduled and frequently is when they're having trips or family outings. This seems like a classic case of kicking someone when they're down. No one had complaints about John and Kate last season but all of a sudden they're making incredibly bad choices by having a show? The incredibly bad choices are in John's personal life, IMHO, but cancelling the show now isn't going to make the p-people (paparazzi) go away, sadly.

They'll do what's right for them and the rest of us should mind our own business...including Matt.

I agree! Those kids are not being made to work around the clock...in my opinion...it's not work. They are being filmed being kids. Playing, spending time with their parents, and just being a family. No family is perfect and I really feel they are being picked on for having marital issues. The show wouldn't be real if they didn't show what EVERYDAY parents go through. I think both parents genuinely love their children and this show is how they PROVIDE for them. Without this, they wouldn't get to do the special things with each of the 8 kids and the kids would grow up in daycare (which I work at one) and thats not what any parent wants if you can stay home. I think that Jon & Kate are the parents and it is not for us to decide what is best for their 8 kids!

I thought this segment this morning was terrible. The "doctor" is only speculating, and we only see very small glimpses of these people's lives. The art of editing for ratings can make people out to be someone they're not. I don't think they need to do an investigation--if they do, then they need to investigate the Duggars, and that other family on "Table for 12" also. The only reason they are investigating the Gosselins is because of all the tabloid crap.

How can you shoot 40 episodes and not be intrusive? The kids will all be in school at least a half day next year. Most of the filming is on the cutting room floor. How much % of their week will be filmed? Normal would be an outing where they are NOT filmed. Birthday parties on their birthdate.

Jon is so concerned about his image that he goes skiing in Utah on Kate's birthday with the woman with whom he is accused of having an affair with? Jon that was SUCH an EFFORT to stay out of the tabloids..lmao!

Furthermore, what say in the matter do the kids have either way? Whatever amount of their private lives is filmed throughout their parents divorce would be like giving the public the reading rights to the most private chapter in the diary of their young lives. Now Jon & Kate are talking about tag-teaming the kids at the big house while alternating weeks off to go do whatever they please, wherever they please with the money the kids are making them. Yeah, that's "normal".

Meanwhile, the kids are caught in the middle and in the spotlight. I never gave Jon or Kate flack as parents until this decision to divorce. Now, it's not about them anymore. It's about protecting the private lives of all 8 kids who shouldn't have to witness repeats of episodes capturing the emotional changes they will go through as they reconcile the end of their family unit as they've known it.

At a minimum, an advocate needs to be assigned to give the children a say in whether the show should continue ( I refuse to watch even if it does). The kids also need their fair share of THEIR money secured before their parents blow it all away on their separate apartments and trips to the spa and ski slopes.

Trust me, when they grow up it won't be boxseats at the Philly's game or carte blanche access to the U of choice that will make them happy adults. I agree, far worse cases have resulted in happy people, but how many of those people will have the general public recognizing them daily and apologizing for what they went through that time ____(fill in the blank).

In my opinion, at least give the kids an advocate to put their vote in on how things go from here. They are the ones making the money to "secure their future", so give them a say in the decision making process.

The authorities only got involved because someone filed a complaint. The State of PA then was obligated to investigate as would any other state. I'm pretty sure nothing will come of it. The kids are clearly happy and well cared for. Thanks to the show their future is financially secure which likely would not have happened without TLC.

There are huge differences bwtween the Gosselins and the other reality shows!

They are the only one, to my knowledge, whose sole source of income is their show and their celebrity. The other families have other sources of income. The other shows also do not appear so invasive and contrived. " Aunt Jodie" stated it well when she says that most of the early shows were derived from a Kate wish list of products she wanted. In the last year it has been dominated by product placement and feeding the frenzy of gossip tabloids. They encourage it!

I belivev they do read gosselinswithoutpity blog site and they derive the subject to broach next...not scripted but directed and contrived.

The labor law issue is based on the fact that there is a question as to how much their homes have been made to accommodate "the set".

The source had not been revealed but Kate's brother Kevin and his wife Jodie publicly decried the isssue. They made the accusations.

I really don't get why so many people seem to think that NO ONE had a problem with the show till just now. That is blatantly false and a pretty bad ASSumption. There have been people protesting the things they were seeing from this show as far back as 2 years ago. It wasn't sooner because they weren't taping 80 episodes a year four years ago that is more recent.

They Today Show has become a televised tabloid! They exploit whatever, and whomever they can. Remember the story of the woman who had "twins with 2 different dads"? If it can be sensationalized, Today is doing it. They've completely lost me as a viewer.

I agree that J&K are providing well for their family by means that have come their way. I have watched J&K+8 since the beginning and will continue to watch. I'm grateful to J&K and TLC for a fascinating look at their life and how they deal with the changes as the kids grow. I'm disgusted with the fickle masses who continue to sling speculative and assumptive mud at this family! Today Show, tread lightly. Unless, you want to lose credibility.

Anyway, can someone please define a "normal" childhood to me. What on earth does that mean? Its stupid. Are we to believe that well-liked, well-respected and well-adjusted adults all had "normal" childhoods? Normal to whom?

I agree with websterweir, Jon & Kate are providing for their family by means that are available to them.

Hang in there, J&K! You only have to wait it out until the next media prey becomes entangled in its trap and you will be old news by their standards. Meanwhile, I will continue to tune in and wish you well.

"Normal" is suffering whatever our private lives brought to our childhoods privately.

Kate being a nurse should be eligible for daycare available at alot of the hospitals. They also should be able to live off of all the money they have already made off of the children plus all the other perks! Hair plugs, tummy tucks, trips ect. I wonder if Kate got approval for her new car, new boobs and last tummy tuck from the kids as her allowance along with all her other perks spas nannies cooks ect, Oh how hard a job she has, It is the kids that are suffering and I for one will never watch that program again. Pull the plug and let the kids alone and maybe they can heal.

I agree that the coverage this morning was very biased. It made me also wonder if the program was after its own grab at the ratings. The scandal ridden Jon & Kate has been a ratings magnet and it seems everyone else is out to benefit from it.

Yes the kids SEEM, just like in the new episodes shown everything SEEMS fine. Though it is not and as the most recent episodes aired were filmed a while ago it obviously hasn't been fine for a while.

As for the other shows you are mentioning there are some people speaking out against those shows. However they are all different in that they don't do 40-50 shows per season. The parents don't expect their kids to solely support the family. They aren't constantly traveling hither thither and yon...they aren't all one long freebie fest like j&k has become.

The doctor who was on was absolutely correct and entitled to her views.

She got all upset because the kids called her by the nanny name; well, Kate, stay home!! She need to quit "promoting" her book, quit with all the talk shows, and STAY HOME! Then perhaps, she might be viewed as a Mom and not someone who is more interested in money than her family!!

It is a soap opera now! J&K are doing everything to see that it remains so!

You tell TLC to leave them alone, but don't cancel them! How can TLC or anyone leave them alone when they don't want to be left alone? You see, Kate thrives on attention and the media. She is not "poor Kate" and "poor Jon". They've invited the media and the attention into their lives and home; now they have to pay the price!!
