Hey Joe!! I can guarantee you that it's not the "lefties" that are criticizing Megan on this. It is the ultra righty social conservatives that have labeled her a RINO amongst other things and hate her for trying to guide the Republican party to a more centrist approach.
you are correct, the tank top is not an issue. it is how amazingly ill fitting it was, she did it on purpose to get attention, like most people in the public eye, stirring up controversy on purpose. she calls it a "media scandal", how hilarious, more attention needed. if she were truly involved in politics, or interested in public affairs at any juncture, she would not have made such a big deal out of this. there are much more pressing issues to deal with. btw, megan how was the book? a good read?
Are those the only choices, "YES" or "NO"? How about "WHO CARES". The ONLY reason she is a "public" figure is because of her daddy McRINO and because she criticized the conservative base of the Republican Party. I guess many of her Twitter "fans" are more conservative than she thought.
I personally don't care about the picture. But I find it hilarious she couldn't take the criticism, something she was more than willing to dish out. So I suggest if you are going to live in a glass house, put down the stone and back away from the windows. Otherwise you need to learn to live with broken windows, as other people have to do after you break theirs.

In any case, she has the right to wear what ever she wants, it's a free country. Looks pretty damn good from where i'm sitting, and for heavens sake it's not like she's posing nude or anything. People take pics in bathing suits that are racier than that and no-one seems to mind. except for the fact that this picture has absolutely nothing to do with "having a sense of humor".. Of course, she's an adult and she's allowed to do whatever she wants, including take risque pictures for the internet. However, I have trouble believing she is really clueless enough to have 'no idea' that a picture that's 50% boobs will not cause some stir, especially when you live in the public eye. Playing dumb isn't cute. This is like the girls who post pictures on their myspaces with the caption "omg this is such a bad pic but. blah blah" solely to get everyone talking about how good looking they are in said photo.
Bottom line, she took a 'racy pic', she knew it was a 'racy pic', and she is silly to even think its plausible for a woman in her position to post a picture like that and not expect a flood of attention--both negative and 'positive' (if you consider anonymous men complimenting your cleavage a positive.)
As I said in my first comment, wherever it is, I posted pics where people got all weirdly sexual and/or socially offended over them, and I was clueless as to why, until the flood of comments started coming in.
This is because I tend to look at my face, and I don't think "Oh, look, there's a sex goddess in the making!" or "I hope people will think I'm sexy!" I think "hee hee . what a bad hairstyle" or "I look like a dork" or whatever. It's just fun, and that's all it's meant to be.
But, you know, some men think that if a woman breathes it means she is trying to raise her breasts up for them to view them.
Good reply Arletta-1415889, I would bet that when she took the pic she did not realize the way it looked as she was likely looking more at her face than her chest, which is natural for most people. When I first saw the pic I couldn't believe that people were up in arms about it, it is hardly anything that truly could be called racy, unless you are incredibly old fashioned and believe women should be wearing high-neck shirts all the time. Frankly I think she should not have apologized later as she had nothing to apologize for.
