Peoples weight is none of ur business. Airbrushing and prostetics as he wore in the movie are unreal and people age and their bodies change and it's no one but their own business how they look and feel.

In 300, it totally looks like he's wearing a chest plate or sculpted using spray tanning. He's still sexy, even if he's a little soft. Just makes him more real. And men can take it off and build muscle so much easier than women. Get a role, get in shape. And as for Britney, I thought she was hot at the MTV awards that year. Sure, a little curvier, but fat? Absolutely not.

As far as the double standard goes the females in Hollywood allow it to happen! AIRBRUSHing!

It would be nice to get back to what women are suppose to look like. I thought women suppose to have curves and hips! These days women are to skinny... size 0 COME ON! why is that even a size?.........

I could care less if Gerard Butler gains weight. I'm a chubby chaser though. Women are certainly put in a different standard bracket than men...especially in Hollywood. If a person gains weight they are still beautiful. When men gain weight in Hollywood it's a blip in the news but when a women does it's front page headlines!

Matt, I agree this was a Stupid interview! But it would have been interesting if you explored all the special effects used to create those unreal bodies like his pecks on 300!

He's still HOT! Look at the pictures on RADAR online, the one the media is floating about are an unflattering angle that would make any 40 year old look bad. The media needs to uncover some real news.

Here's the bigger problem. Those guys packing on huge amounts of muscle in months sometimes weeks are simply taking dope. They arn't dieting and getting trainers. Its called STEROIDS and HGH, wake up! And most of it is illegal, just like any other drug you buy off the street. So thats the real story here!

I agree that this shouldn't even be discussed. But I will add my two cents. First of all, scrutinizing a PERSON after the holidays is just stupid. Gerard was on his own time, not making a movie so who cares what he does or what he looks like? He trained to the point of making himself sick for 300; how dare anyone think he should have to keep that up. He is a person, not a commodity. The same goes for female celebrities. It's none of anyone's business what they do or how they look on their own time.

There are homeless people dying from living out in the cold, and THIS is the crap you decide to report on? Shame on you Today Show. I've been a faithful watcher for what feels like all my life, but I'm seriously considering finding another morning show after this disgusting EXPLOITATION of a good, talented and gorgeous man on a private holiday.

PORKER I TELL YOU never looked like in Movie his body now tells you that. I'm 57 and look way more like movie than not so I know a mans body he's a PORKER. its not that hard to not have a dun-lap you know the fat that hangs over the waist band, thats what makes a Porker and he qualifies. Yes he may be a talented actor and this is why he got job but all we see in the Movies is not real including some actors body's. Actor yes example of healthy Male NO.

Who cares about weight gain. Can't these celebrities kick back and relax when they aren't filming? Aren't they allowed to indulge in the recent holiday cheer as the rest of the world does..and gain a bit? Women do take more criticism when they gain weight, but they are human too, and bodies change as we age. The celebrities should be judged on their talent on screen...Gerry's films rock, not because of his physical appearance..but because of his talent.

Didn't Butler quit smoking recently?? Pardon me, but I would much rather have a little more weight on him while APPLAUDING him for giving up smoking....then to see those ridiculous abs from 300 and have him back on the cancer sticks!!

Instead of shining the spotlight on ANYONE'S chub and flub....why not focus on their abilities as an artist. Personally, I prefer Bridget Jones shape to the one Renee usually sports. I think Nicole Kidman looked better before she carved out her cheeks and stuffed her lips. (to name a few)

The day WE stop buying the rag mags, is the day the picture takers will change directions. This "double standard" is OURS. We created it and WE keep it going. It's time to stop blaming the DOLLAR-DRIVEN media. They follow the sounds of the cash register....which in turn, follows US.

Gerry has been working his BUTT off doing one movie after another and each time he has to gain and lose... that's what a lot of stars have to do...Tom Hanks, Christian Bale, I could go on and on but won't. BTW...the person that said his body in 300 was not real is delusional...he worked very hard for that body and the article of his workout made Mens Health Mag that year! Guess that was fake too! Right now he is having some well deserved down time and so what if he put on a few pounds..He'll be back to the gym and back in shape for his next movie in no time! But above all...even though I think he is still Gorgeous...he happens to be one of the nicest people you will meet in show biz today..I am disappointed that this show decided to exploit him like this..I used to watch this show...I'm done now!

I can not believe of all shows that the Today Show would do this to Gerard. This is a talented not to mention great looking man who seems to have a good personality. You guys are the ones with double standards. Wanting to have him on the show when he is in a hit movie but flash his gut when he does not keep up the 300 physique which would be most impossible for any working man.
