Let me see....at 9 months both of my kids were crawling, pulling themselves up on furniture, trying to walk, they could both "finger" walk (you know, while I held their hands, they walked) and generally acting like a pre-toddler. They were NOT, and I repeat, NOT, spending their time lying around in their cribs!!

At 9 months my son was walking. All kids develop differently. What's the point? Besides, wasn't it the lawyer or whatever who said that? Some 40 year old man who probably has no kids of his own...doubt he has any idea what babies do.

I gave birth to a 4 lb., 6 oz. premie over 20 years ago. By 3 months, she was smiliing, cooing, and holding her head up on her own. By 5 months, she began to crawl. By 7 months, she was standing but holding on to something for balance. AT ONE, SHE WAS WALKING ON HER OWN.

I don't know where you've gotten your info that these babies are "normal" when, as Czech said, they've been lying in their cribs for the first 3/4 of their lives. NORMAL babies want to MOVE and explore.

I find it interesting that no article EVER mentions that she's paid back her student loans. Instead of that money going toward her EDUCATION, she used it for personal use. Annoyed - the autistic child is among the first 6, and no mention of him is ever made. I suspect that part of Octomom's livelihood is supported by the disability payments she receives for all of the disabilities many of the children have. One child, if I remember correctly, was diagnosed as a "slow learner." There's money pouring in for that child, too. I do question who is the real recipient of that government assistance .... Octomom, or the children?

I have a son who is on the autism-spectrum disorder -- he has Asperger's syndrome, which is not bad as far as autism goes, that's why my kids are 12 years apart. When you have a special needs child, all your attention is totally focused on that child. At least, that's what I think (I'm not talking about ignoring your spouse, either).

How on Earth did she ever find the time to have what, 3 or 4 more kids after him BEFORE she got pregnant with the money-makers, take care of an autistic child, carry the octuplets and give birth to them, lose 150 lbs., get "rid" of the stretch marks and get off food stamps? That's probably why she never has time to sleep. She's got to multi-task!

Sorry, you missed the point. If your child was in a crib in as room alone 22 of 24 hours a day I would agree you are a rotten parent. I think most children at one, if not walking are crawling, pulling up on things, etc. and certainly eating baby food, etc.

The point was that babies need to be exposed to others to learn and thrive. I don't believe hers are getting this, and that is only an opinion based on pictures and reports.
