Saving...
After all this that has happened with their last baby does anyone know if they are still planning on having more? I would be scared to get pregnant again after going threw a premature birth like they did with Josie? Or are they still leaving everything in GODS hands?
My wife did some research on them when they first appeared on TV. Based on the bent of the "religion" they follow, it requires them to do so.
No offense, but what's next, animal sacrifices?
Yeah, I know someone that belongs to this insane religious group. shw has no money to even support her brood of eight already, the husband can't get full time work. they have to ask everyone around them for money for food and such.
yet she claims that god commands her to pump out more squalling parasites, and that god will provide for them (which he isn't, everyone else is)

I agree to tying her tubes and for him to get a vascectomy It's a shame that the older children have to raise the younger ones because the parents are very irresponsible. Too many children - not enough time to raise them. What are they teaching the children - certainly not abstinence.

First off, understand that I am not supporting their beliefs. I am merely pointing out things that they have said and such.
He has a commercial real estate business, (I believe a few other businesses as well), and can probably afford the insurance for all of those little buggers, er, I mean Duggars. (~_o) Plus, they have stated that they save up and pay cash for everything, new, used, or otherwise.
Much like the Muslim "religion", their "religion" requires them to leave "family planning" in their God'z hands. (Taking over the world through the natural attrition of other "religions"... Have ya noticed I'm not big on "religion"? I am, however, spiritual.)
The name of the game for everyone is to lawfully pay as little in "taxes" as possible. Since they pretty much take care of themselves, "income tax" probably isn't an issue. But, unless they have allodial title, they are paying property tax. So they're at least taking care of their county officials.

Everyone (in their right mind) wants a bigger piece of the pie. That's fine when one realizes that the pie always continues to grow. So the only ones that will directly pay for their (the Duggars) decisions, will be their offspring.

They don't pay there bills! TLC and the sponsors who they PIMPED their children out too are. He's in comercial realestate yet didn't have the resources to finish his own house! Without the freak show baby maker and their emotionally abused kids they wouldn't have nothing!
Granted, they are making a few bucks from TLC, their reasoning is to do what you can, without going into credit debt. Those that have gone through the sub-prime real estate debacle could learn a few things from that philosophy.

I have mixed feelings about this. They have said they plan on leaving more children up to God, but I honestly believe God would want her to listen to her body. She's had two emergency c-sections in a row now. Her chance for delivering prematurely for any future babies have skyrocketed. I worry for those kids if something were to happen to her during childbirth. I mean pre-eclampsia, uterine rupture - those are all serious possibilities for her now. Michelle - for the sake of your 19 kids - don't put yourself through that danger unnecessarily!
I don't agree with their choices or their lifestyle, but I will say all those kids are extremely polite and well-mannered. And the family lives debt free - they're not taking anything from the government. TLC is probably paying for a large portion of their medical care, I honestly don't think it's the taxpayers. I do feel bad for those kids having to wear prairie clothes all the time though =).
I am conflicted about the Duggars.
On the one hand, I don’t think it is the government’s business telling someone how many kids they can have.
On the other hand, the “Full Quiver Types” seem to be living in a world (Pre modern medicine) where it took 5 or 6 live births to have 2 kids that lived to adulthood.

We are no longer trying to “tame a continent” etc. so the biological imperative for families of this size went away a long time ago. The “Be fruitful, multiply, and replenish the Earth” mandate has long since been fulfilled as well.
Also some of these people seem to be in a racial/cultural population contest. (I am not aiming this at the Duggars in particular.)

Michele Duggar-- Nadia Suleman What's the difference? Why is one so hated by the media and the other treated like royalty by the same media? Is it because the dumbers are a married couple with a nice house and a bank account at their disposal to raise their herd and ms. suleman needs assistance? For the record, I don't like either of those women. But... The difference is the Duggars can financially support their own family (supposedly. don't even get me started on the tax breaks they get because they run their own church). Octomom went out and intentionally had herself implanted with MORE babies when the government was already supporting the ones she had!
Neither of these moms are capable of giving all their children the attention they need, and neither of these moms are doing the actual physcal hands on caring for their babies. Octomom has nannies, and the Duggars have their older children.

But Suleman stopped after the octuplets, most likely because no one will help her after that fiasco. As there has been no word of Suleman being pregnant or comtemplating having kids, it's assumed and confirmed for the moment that she has quit, unlike her brainless broodmare puppy mill counterpart who has not.
Do I believe the Duggar's love their children? Do I believe that the Dugger's are following their religious beliefs? The answer is yes. But, I have a huge problem with this family...the older kids are raising the younger kids...the kids are suffering and I sincerely stand behind that statement. There is no humanly way possible that Michelle or Jim Bob can give each child the individual and private time that these children probably crave!! I feel sorry for the kids....the older children aren't allowed to be kids...they have to be caregivers for the younger siblings so I don't admire this "family" at all - reality TV money grubbers!
Not to mention how much more can her uterus take.....it has to be pretty thin after 19 kids and what MD in his right mind would want to risk taking her on for yet another pregnancy!! If she isn't high risk I don't know who is!
I watched an episode once (I forget which child they were having at the time) and they talked about how it was getting harder to find a doctor who would allow her to attempt to deliver naturally given her history. No, duh! Who wants to take on something that high risk?
Yes, this is their business, but it's gotten out of hand. If you read the synopsis of the latest shows, they are "Josie Duggar does...." and "Josie Duggar meets..." I haven't watched it, but the feeling I get is that they have run out of material and still need to keep pumping out shows to pay the bills. How stressful is it on a preemie to be at the center of a TV show all the time?
I have no hatred for them, but as a Christian, I appeal to Michelle to think beyond this cult and remember that we are to take care of our bodies. She is destroying herself and going to deprive her children of a mother if she keeps this up. (Not that she can adequately mother that many children anyway.)
Meaning, it's God's/Mother Nature's friendly message telling Michelle to keep her legs closed and her skirt down.
She will never break the record for giving birth to the most babies. For her sake, I hope they stop this madness now. Next time could turn out worse. Why aren't they just thankful for the ones that are here? Babies may come from heaven but they also come from Mommie and Daddy, Jim Bob.
If she wants to break the record she'll have to do what the rabbits do and get herself impregnated with 4 to 12 embryos and then pop them out on the same day.

omg I need to keep my cool here. These people are freaks! The children can not in anyway be getting the care and nurturing that they need. Forget the fact that maybe they are making it without public assistance. But that house wasnt built buy just them. Thats how the show started that house was finished for them because they couldnt get it done. Now the show. They need to step back and think maybe the last to pregnancies were a sign. Maybe God has sent a message and they just arent smart enough to see it.

If they were Mexicans it would be normal. My mom has 13 brothers and sisters. I am one of 10. Big families are designed to take care of their elders when they can no longer take care of themselves. Now days all you Gabachos expect the government to take care of you like your entitled to retire. My great-grandfather lived to 113 and never took a penny from the government.

My MOm and Dad had 4 children - one is NUTS - and 2 are non-existent - that's RIGHT I'm taking care of her in her old age - FULL TIME - 24/7 ... You don't NEED a large family to care for your parents - but it would be nice about now for me ... I know one Mexican family and the mother is shipped here and there between the siblings a few months a year at each - there are about 8 siblings - SWEET deal!

While researching family ancestry I have been amazed at the size of the old families. 10-16 kids per generation till the 20th century. In days gone by it was common for a woman to remain pregnant till she died. Maybe a few offspring would survive. Once our ancestors arrived in America nearly 400 years ago their surroundings improved their health to such a degree that almost all their offspring survived to adulthood. 100+ grandchildren per couple was the norm!

My Mother was one of 17! Not Mexican, but Catholic. My Grandfather and Grandmother fought like animals and had lots of "make up" sex. Great for my Grandfather who left my Grandmother to fend for herself and her kids.

Enough is a enough. The woman has to be near menopause stage. It is now dangerous for her to have more children. I can remember when they had 12. Cheaper by the dozen. The father used to sell real estate. And the mother home schooled the children. I remember the hugh house they built that had commercial appliances in the kitchen.
How is she managing to home school her tribe these days? Are these kids being educated at all?

I think it's admirable and one other thing - their children are really top notch people - everyone of them is a gem! Just to say - they're GREAT parents!
