When the story first broke, I was thinking that it was nothing more than jerk son getting bare minimum (ONLY $1 million, boo hoo hoo) from moms will. But after seeing the cell phone video it looks like he may be right. And one more current reality that points all kind of circumstantial fingers at the staff, is the fact that none of them are coming to the press to say what happened from their side. And there is the fact that there are so many of them on the staff. Really, how many body guards does an old bed ridden woman really need?

Staff do these kinds of underhanded things. My wife who is a CPA had client who died but was influenced while under meds to write several $10K checks by a couple of staff and house keepers. When she caught on to their scheme, one said "her owed it to them and besides his wife, the rich bitch didn't need it." They didn't get a cent.

It seems to me that she was probably on some pretty heavy medication for her cancer. Therefore, it makes me wonder when her Last Will & Testiment was changed/ revised. If she changed her will while highly mediated, then she would not be "Of Sound Mind" and her Will should revert back to her previous wishes or presented to a judge with her medical/ mental records and history for his review. Add to that the alcholism and strange behavior in general, she sounds like a nut job.

However, I do agree that if the son was suspicious of the behavior of her staff, then why was he not in court asking for power of attorney to handle his mothers medical/ financial issues before it came to this? Or was it all a last minute decision on her part (which would revert back to "being of sound mind")? Why did he not find an attorney locally to her to represent his mother in regard to her medical and financial issues while keeping him in the loop? If she had that much money, why was her personal attorney not letting the son know things were seeming a little odd? How much did he get out of it for changing her will while she was in an altered mental state? Why didn't the son get his own attorney, take control over the estate during her terminal illness & then he could take control over the staff and hire appropriate staff that he could trust. I'm sure the story is leaving out a lot...

Any way you spin it; there's something rotten going on and he should have full legal rights to the finality of the estate; pending upon when her Will was last revised; before or after the heavy narcotics.

It was the only time he could see was when she was on her death bed the staff kept him away. In the video it says she wanted to see him but the staff wouldn't let him.

Yeh, the video evidence is certainly telling--but if the son had any fear for his mum's safety or any other concern for his mum or his own relationship with her he would have discussed this situation with an attorney and they'd have gone to the police or whatever other authority his attorney advised be shown the video and he’d have tried to liberate his mum from the grasp of these caretakers that he claims his mum thought were trying to kidnap and kill her. But no...he left his vulnerable mum with her presumably evil caretakers.
