My husband and I watched the story about Jon Metz with interest. My husband lost his left arm to cancer forty years ago this past April. Steve is an amazing person. He never dwells on the negative part of losing his arm - just that he is so grateful to be alive. Treatment was basically non-existent then. His life is definitely different with only having one arm and never being able to use a prosthetic. He would definitely be willing to share experiences he's had over the years with Jon. Steve ties his own shoes (because he hated velcro shoes), peels boiled eggs, butters his bread, etc. He's finished his career working with kids and adults with disabilities and then with women inmates . Losing an arm never slowed him down - just made him more determined. We are confident Jon Metz will push forward and find ways to overcome any adversity he may face in the future.
