Call me a cynic, but I take one look at their photo and can't help but think "that marriage is doomed." Between the age difference and the wide distance on the "looks spectrum" between those two, one of them is bound to feel like they sold their soul to the devil in exchange for prestige, hot sex, an heir, whatever.
yeah yeah good luck!oh, and make sure you visit and take care of your kids.they are just as much of a responsiblity and a part of your life, as any future kiddies with this beautiful lady.
Oh goody! Another ugly, balding man marrying someone young enough to be his daughter...bleck! Of course he can't marry anyone his own age, because he has to produce an legitimate "heir" to make sure Caroline's son doesn't take over the throne. Whatever, and in the grand scheme of things, who really cares? I guess I did enough to comment LOL!
Albert's new wife to be can call him Daddy, since he's old enough to be hers....
he doesn't want someone his own age...he wants a beautiful girl, who he can drool and slobber over...poor thing to marry for money...all the comforts on this planet will not relieve the spiritual blackness to never be free to marry for love - but probably this person will be quite wealthy in a few years, when she's had enough :)
Albert and Charlene have known each other since 2000 (10 years). She has lived in the principality since 2006. The article also states that she has been preparing for the stress and responsibilities of her duties as princess. She has known Albert long enough and is old enough to have an idea of what is in store for her if they marry.
On the other hand, Princess Diana was a naive teenager living out a childhood fantasy of marrying a prince. They had dated for only a short period of time before they became engaged. She was also pushed into the marriage by family and friends for the social status. The British royal family didn't begin training her in her new role as future queen until after the engagement was announced. Comparing the lives of these two couples before their weddings is like comparing apples and oranges.
There isn't enough money or anything else in the world that would convince me to live the lives these royals are obligated to live...endless dinners, luncheons, ribbon cuttings, etc.
But did you see the size of the rock upon her left hand's ring finger????? She's a big girl and been around him for 10 years now. Who are we to say what love transpires b/t them.
Be happy for the couple, seize the moment, and wish for an invitation to the wedding. A gala event it is sure to be.
Remember Oedipus?? Most men subliminally and oddly seek a woman that reminds them of their mother.....go figure. I just wanted to become independent of mine and have worked very hard to not repeat her patterns that I so disliked.
I don't think she's as pretty as Grace. Grace was drop dead gorgeous Her beauty almost surreal. Did anyone ever see "Rear Window" or "Dial M. for Murder" she was so excellent in both of those. This gal is very attractive but she is no Grace Kelly. Eh, I wish them well. They've known ea. other a long time.. not sure why after 52 yrs he suddenly has a hair up his royal A** to get married.. to produce an Heir I guess.. Hair up one a**, heir up the other a**.. HA HA HA.. get it?
The bedroom scene on the wedding night has gotta be a riot. Maybe she should consider artificial insemination. This is great material for a broadway comedy.
In the interest of time (and taste), I will keep this comment on subject. Despite his 30-year wait, Prince Albert is to be congratulated not only for making it thus far, but for recognizing the responsibility he possess in ensuring the stability of this popular dynasty. I wish him and his intended all the very best!!
FYI, Princess Grace left vacant the role of royal consort by her untimely death in September 1982 (that's just shy of 28 - not 30 years).
It is incorrect to refer to Ms. Wittstock as crown-princess-to-be. Monaco is ruled by a prince, not by a king (which is why it is known as a principality, not a kingdom.) Prince Albert already is the current sovereign prince, having inherited the position upon the death of his father. Prince Albert's fiancee could be called, I guess, princess-consort-to-be.
Well, there you have it. We finally have Prince Albert in a Can.
LOL

I'm sure she's old enough to know what she's doing...it's her choice, and who knows what sort of "arrangement" they have made.

Who would actually want to marry Prince Albert? Ugh!
The bride to be looks thrilled.....not.
But did you see the size of the rock upon her left hand's ring finger????? She's a big girl and been around him for 10 years now. Who are we to say what love transpires b/t them.

Gee, I know I've just been holding my breath waiting for this news! Snark!
Just like his ol' man, it HAS to be a blonde.
I guess neither the ol' man nor sonny-boy are smart enough to handle a redhead.
Just when things were looking so bleak another "Tee Hee" moment comes along to make things O.K. again
She's very beautiful, she reminds me of Grace and it's about time he married, I mean he's 52! Anyone else notice the HUGE bling on her finger? Wow.
"she reminds me of Grace"
Does anyone else find it a little eerie that she bears striking similarities to his mom? Weird. And disturbing!
Remember Oedipus?? Most men subliminally and oddly seek a woman that reminds them of their mother.....go figure. I just wanted to become independent of mine and have worked very hard to not repeat her patterns that I so disliked.
Would YOU B able 2 get close 2 baldy without the HUGE rock? I'm guessin', she couldn't. lol
Well...I guess even a Prince needs a beard.
This definitely looks like a match made in Earth, LOL
When you announce your engagement without giving a date..... you have no intention whatsoever of REALLY getting married.
She looks like a she-male and he looks like a pathetic fat balding THING!! He used to be so hot but now, ewwwww
Are u kidding, she doesnt look like Grace Kelly, Grace was stunning just like her daughter Caroline is .....and Stephanie
Prince Albert is in the can. Oh, Oh, somebody better get him out. (That's such an old joke).
I'm an OLD joker.
She looks enough like Grace Kelly to be her movie double! This gentleman has good taste (just like his father?).

She's hot but who cares ? At least she won't have any cold in-laws like poor diana had to deal with.
What happens when the little heir looks like Pedro the pool boy?

She's too good for him. But I hope she gets all she wants fom him! Good luck! I also agree with Mungo.
