Such a great story to start the year with. I wish you and your family the best Ted Williams, this proves to me God is always watching those who have faith in Him and continuously believe in Him.
Why do people always bring Thank GOD into everything. Thank his parents, not God. His parents created him, not God, his parents raised him, not God, if God was going to help him then why is it people that gave him a job, a salary, and a helped him off the streets. Not this intangible God that everyone thanks when it was his parents and other people that did all the work.
Yes it's a great story on him getting a second chance, but it was a person that met him and listened to his voice that gave him his second chance. Not God!
That's right ... give all the credit to God. I'm sure Ted Williams had nothing to do with it. Apparently you did not read the story, because Ted claims he only recently found God. He continuously didn't acknowledge or thank Him until he lucked into this situation. Now Ted will be working in an industry bent on entertainment and advertising. Leave it to God to focus on bringing one person out of poverty only to have him be part of an industry that does nothing to better mankind. The rest of the world's downtrodden can just continue to suffer.
That said, I'm happy for Ted that he found his way out of the misery of addiction.
Shugga- Didn't you know God is responsible for everything except gays, abortions and democratic election wins. Everything, else happens because he wants it to.
I too am happy this man has been given a second chance at life...and yet, there's always a but. For me, its one simple thing - the offers he's getting are not some "deluge of blessings" given from GOD, but rather lots of businesses eager to capitalize on this mans newfound fame. In fact, many could contend that if GOD really exists, he might very well be testing Ted Williams by sending him devils and angels, and its up to Ted to choose wisely who is who.
I dont personally believe in all that, I think this guy just got really lucky. And now he's got lots of chances to change his fortune, or to wind back up in his old habits.
I wish this man tons of luck, he's going to need it...I dont see devils out there, just greedy people who care more about money than people.
I have been following this story and I think it's great that he is given a 2nd chance!! I do hope that he is able to deal with his new found fame. Since he is a recovering addict being 2 years sober, I hope he is able to deal with all of this rather than start using again.
I saw this man on the Today show this morning. Glad to see there's good things happening to people in the midst of all the doom and gloom. Great story and I wish the best for Ted. BTW Shugga, if he wants to give God credit...it's his life and his prerogative.
@ Shugga... you are a pretty sick person....have you thought about what lead that man to even reach out to this guy....is it just possible that GOD spoke to that man's heart to reach out to him...god works through PEOPLE you idiot to help people...and he is working through me now to tell you to wake up brother ..before it is too late...having GOD in ones life is a wonderful and peaceful thing...give it try and stop sucking down the liberal vomit that he does not exists.... ;)
So the guy says he now has God in his life and all of a sudden the atheists just come out the woodwork and have to put it down. Too bad your own lives are so devoid of self worth and contentment that you have to negate anyone else's high spirit. I would tell you to pray that there is not a God for your sake, but from your perspective, you have nothing to pray to, so it would be meaningless.
shugga....you need god in your life....you are a sick minded person...father-god please help this person for he know not what he/she is saying. god bless you ted and may god continue to smile upon you.. you are truly blessed by god...
Pedophiles, Serial killers, rapists, cannibalis etc are sick. Just because Shugga doesn't think God is hands on with everything that happens in peoples life dose not mean he is sick.
God must have wanted Shugga to post that or he would have made him post something else.
Wow, Mark, was that diatribe taught in church? are those jesus' words? calling people idiots is part of the "religion of love and peace", I guess....
Now, what happens if this guy loses everything and winds up back on the streets an addict? Will THAT be blamed on god, too? Probably not. Nobody ever blames the bad on the flying sky fairy.
The non believers above are just envious that nothing miraculous has happened in their life...Get over it. Your self serving comments make you sound hateful and resentful, kinda like 'satanists', who prey on the good fortunes of others, in 'one way or another'.
If he thanks God then that's his business and choice, who are we to determine who he gives thanks to. Shugga I would simply respect his choice and move on. We cannot force someone to believe or not believe in God.
I for one believe in God but if he has said luck or chance, I still would have some respect for what he said. Be inspired that someone in life made a mistake and has been given a second chance. Let's celebrate that rather than arguing who he should and should not thank.
Ted-God bless you and remember...in EVERYTHING give thanks.
Just call it like I see...just because you believe in GOD does not mean you a wimp etc...I am personally sick of the liberal vomit of "would jesus do that" or "that is not christ like"...keep in mind god is a god of love and peace and good, but he is also a god of war and of punishment and a god of wrath...
Unfortantly, sooner or later the god of wrath will show himself because of the anti-christ society we have become...when it does...give me a shout...I want to see the look on your face...
I never said I didn't believe in God and Shugga never said it in his post either. I don't know about Shugga but I do believe in God. I just don't think God is responsible or cares about every little thing I do. When a hurricane happens its not because God wanted it to its because it happens. When someone wins the lotto its not because God wanted them to they was just lucky.
good point. I believe it's called personal choice and responsibility. We are not told to sit around idle and expect God to do wondorous things in our lives. We have free will and choose the paths we take. It's just that believers feel they will be held accountable for the choices they've made, when their day comes...
I am a registered Republican, so thank you for your "all knowing" post. And there you go making nasty, judgemental, and self righteous posts, that have a tendency to give Christians and Christianity a bad name. Way to go.
Everyone deserves a second chance. Now it's up to him to prove he deserves it. I hope he can do it, but the fact he's going to be swimming with sharks won't make it easy.
It could also be the president's dad !!! The more one looks, the more one sees the similarities. And the orator's voice !!!
Nobody knows where Mr. Obama's father is these days....maybe he's trying to get a piece of the action. Someone should go search the alley the guy lives in to see if he owns Billy Carter's autobiography !!!
The Today show should have had the guy say "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor"..."the time for bickering is over"...and "now look !!!".
They could check voice patterns so we will all finally know the truth !!!
@ luvmy2boys...what was so "un-christian" in cleverles's statement...
You just help fuel the fire for libs to use the "not like christ" etc...great..you are a republican...and a christian...I am a conservative and christian...
Christians don't have to be a bunch of spineless individuals...who are weak and wimpy...there will be a time, luvmy2boys, that christians will be pursecuted for our beliefs....you will be forced to stand up for your beliefs or fold...toughen up girl... I am a very nice and giving and caring person...but my CHRISTIAN parents taught me to stand up for what I believe in and never, ever let anyone roll you over....and thanks to their up bringing I have had a good and blessed life....
The non believers above are just envious that nothing miraculous has happened in their life...Get over it. Your self serving comments make you sound hateful and resentful, kinda like 'satanists', who prey on the good fortunes of others, in 'one way or another'.
With all due respect Mark, if you think that this is how a Christian should act/speak...ie: lashing out, making judgemental, and backhanded insults and name calling, then really, it doesn't matter why I think his/her statement was un-Christian like.
Even Rednecks have compassion, we all have skeletons in our closets, and everyone deserves a second chance. He may not be able to fight off the demons of his past, but that is no reason to be mean about him trying to become a better person. Shame on you for being so mean spirited. Have you ever tried to wright a wrong, did you deserve that second chance?
Re-reading the article surely points out the media mindset....they write that this man "led a colorful life-fathering 9 children".
Sorry....but a homeless man on the street who has spent ten minutes of his life nine times adding those nine children is truly not "colorful". It is a disaster that has been repeated thousands of times at a tremendous price to a society that, in most cases, pays the price for one man's "colorfulness".
Any wonder why the nation is broke ? My state's budget shows 27% of all spending going to 'social services' and my state is $3.5 billion in the hole for the 2011 year...so far.
Any actual parent who raises or has raised children just has to shudder at thinking of the real costs of actually "raising" nine children. To simply "produce" them and let others pay the costs is simply not right.
How he got to where is today is meaningless. I am agnostic, still if he wants to credit God that is his prerogative. I would say if this was in God's hands there should be a whole lot more such success stories like this one. There are plenty of homeless that hold talent. I work at a local soap kitchen and talk to these people often. But many are so mentally ill they simply are not reachable. At least Williams realized he still had his voice.
Of course this is still a great story. I do however worry this is all too much, too fast, the guy has been an addict for a very long time. That is serious business. He needs continual counseling and support from professionals but not so sure he needs a huge workload at this point.
Wonderful he reunited with his mother and she did not turn away from him. That is the issue with so many of the lost. I wish him the best of luck. He has already found quite a bit of that recently.
Take it easy on Shugga, Christians complain they are often persecuted but it is we agnostics and atheists that are in fact the most persecuted group in America. Tell me any other group of legal, law-abiding citizens that is banned from running for public office in 10 American states? Even after 9/11 Americans were more willing to accept a Muslim President than a rational "godless" one. But no one will really know the truth until that fateful day when their time on Earth ends. No matter how much faith you hold! Having had a near death experience I am quite comfortable with my beliefs (or lack thereof)...
Not God!
D'ya ever think God helped the people who helped him?
God does work in mysterious ways.
He's a pretty popular guy ya know! God, that is.
Nothing wrong with your opinion Shug, but some people feel just as strongly about their opinion as well.
All I know is there have been too many instances in my life (for the better) that defy reason/result , and I elect to attribute those instances to God.
I guess you would refer to it as "good luck", I refer to it as "God luck".
There is plenty more out their like him shugga, should we rely on you to help them !
Well, if this intangible god helped him (which he didn't), why is it that it took this intangible god so long in doing so, and why is this intangible god ignoring everyone else.
Maybe a lot of it has to do with having money or no money to rescue people. So until someone with money comes around and gives all these other homeless crack addicts a helping hand, don't hold your head under water and think that some god is going to rescue you, because it ain't gonna happen.
Maybe people should start thanking the people that gave this man a second chance, not some intangible god that did squat for him. Doctors save lives, not god, doctors heal people, not god, people help people, not god.
Maybe some people just have a few loose screws that need a bit of tightening done.
What an inspiration! I am moved to tears. I think Matt was, too. I love the way he thanks God for his life and voice. I wish him all the best, and only the best. This is a great way to start the new year, second chances...Thank you, God!
Wheter it's God, fate, luck, coincidence, i still wish him all the best. It's not often that people get a second chance, and yes he is an inspiration in these times. I wish him all the best with his recovery and his new career.
all that bickering above is pointless. Even the bible says that luck and chance exist. So instead of trying to pinpoint WHY, we should all be happy THAT good things happen. And use that as fuel to live a respectable productive life where you contribute more to society than these (self-perceived) witty comment board posts.
I wasn't trying to be flip, in fact i also received a "second chance" at life, i was where this guy has been 20 years ago. i turned my life around too, it's a hard road. I wish i could have had this man's faith at the time, but i acccredit it to the people who showed me kindness without reward for my turnaround. For those peole who don't believe tha it's possible, walk a mile in his shoes. There are great people out there, it's just harder to find them in todays society.
Ted's story is amazingly refreshing. It was nice to hear that God is first this time and he is appreciating the opportunity. Thanks for sharing this story. My teen child and I watched this found ourselves cheering and crying for this guy. We wish him the best in his opportunities.
Thank you for doing such a heart warming story. Every time I see this man I cry. I see God in him and I am thankful that the world can now see that too. We live in a sometimes harsh world and we need more hope brought into ours. While I am not homeless, I know that I need to remind myself that with God, anything is possible and that miracles happen everyday all day to me and others. My wish for Ted is that he continues to be thankful for the miracles that God is gracing him with and that he sees the miracle that he is! He is now in my prayers that he stays in the place where gratitude and wonder fill his heart. I ask for continued healing for him for his highest and best good. I love the wonderment of the child that he is that escapes from him as he talks. Again, thank you for the beautiful message that you have helped bring to humanity. God does walk among us and the sooner that we as Ted put it-have a relationship with a God of our understanding the better off this world will be. Thank you.
HOW AWESOME!!!!! I cried watching this intereview. Ted is inspirational with his voice and his story. The fact he is so real and honest of his story is so amazing and refreshing. You can see in his face and hear it in his voice of how grateful he is. I wish him greatness as he pulls himself up and makes a better life. I am so certain he's got the right tools now to do so. So Ted good luck, much love and I know this is your year to shine like never before, as I hope it is my year to shine as well. Wishing everyone who has struggled with depression, adiction and other things that this will be our year to perservere. GOD BLESS.
I have been watching Mr. Williams in the media for the last 3 days. I think it is so awesome how someone on their way to church would stop and take an interest in him. I was wondering if the person who video taped him that day also gave him a gospel tract ? I think his story is amazing and his personality is just so cute.
I pray that he is able to remain calm in all the glory he is experiencing as he re-adjusts to a civilized life. What an incredible story and testimony he has! Praise God for the people who came to his rescue. I look forward to hearing more about Mr. Williams in 2011.
This AMAZING story is nothing short of a miracle! Each time I hear Ted Williams talk about what's happened to him from his glory days to his demise, my eyes fill with tears to know he has gotten an opportunity to start over again. How wonderful!!!May he continue to be blessed in his new adventure and I hope that one day I'll have the pleasure of meeting such a humble man. He can be an example for sooooo many people out there who get caught up in the "bling", or their fame that they can't see beyond anything or anyone but themselves. Ted, keep your spirits high, homeboy! (Yeah, I was born in Bed-Sty, too!) and I'll pray for your continued road to success. God bless you.
Now that's the kind of interview I like to see. I actually watched and listened. I was so moved by his honesty, but most of all it didn't seem staged, coached or fake. I wish him the best. Keep us informed- ya got somethin' here Today Show!
Best story of the year, love this guy. May Jesus Christ bless Ted Williams and help him to make the right choices this time. Love his humility and excitement. I can't imagine how he feels. Great, great interview, best of the year.
This was one of my most favorite stories of the New Year. I am happy for him but was also just impressed with how he was interviewed on the Today Show.  He wasn't rushed, he wasn't cut off, he was comforted through the interview and just felt not only his happiness but of the interviewers as well. I wish him well. I hope he will continue with council as he approaches and lives his new life. I will try to remember to pray for him daily. This is one story to remember when you think you can't take it another day. You never know what tomorrow will bring. God bless him and everyone on the Today's show.
I watched the interview with TED WILLIAMS this morning, frozen in front of the t.v. I felt myself tear up as he shared his story, full of excitement almost like a child! He reminded me that people like us; with a job, a family, and success (as little as we may feel it is) should not be taken for grantid. I am so thankful that you had him on your show. It put me in check, and also has pushed me to continue to "pass it forward" however that may be. I wish the best of luck to TED!
I'll bet this story comes in as #1 for 2011 when it comes to a "feel-good" story. What a guy,..what impressed me was when he was standing on the side of the road, crazy wind-swept hair, not a pot to piss in, his bedroom underneath a bridge......and the guy could still crack a smile and be polite/cordial, endearing. I'd invite Ted into my house in a heartbeat.
Awesome baritone voice. Even more awesome name (being a die-hard Sox Fan.)
Hats off to him, I've known too many friends who have died, caved-in, given up due to the nightmare world of drugs..(I could have well gone that route many years ago.) Wish him all the best...and godspeed. May the latter part of his life more than make up for all his lost years.
Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. I love this story. PLEASE stay with your 12 Steps. You are so blessed and we all want to see you succeed. Be strong and remember what your Mom taught you. Great way to begin 2011.
God didnt make this possible....the camera man did, then the today show!
And Santa Claus does have everything to do with this....doesnt he bring miracles too....how do you know (for sure) that it wasnt santa claus, maybe even the Easter Bunny brougt a miracle when he laid his Golden Egg....it could have been.....ya just never know.
personally i think if you are to credit God for giving him this chance, then you should blame God for taking this man and making him homeless as well!!!
God took this man away from his family for years, only to give him his life back??? I say, God seems like a Jerk if you ask me!
I feel pity for you; some day you will realize that God exist and he is merciful. Why to blame God about our choices or decisions? people should read and study the bible to understand the love and merci that comes from God.
do you think that you are in this earh because of coincidence? of because your parents decided to be together?
You should meditate in who you are and ask God forgiveness
I did learn something here today...and while "mgira" is being insulted, I'd offer that I saw something here that I really never thought of or heard before. It's "mgira's" comment about people always ready to hand over 'credit' to God when things go right, but rarely assign 'blame' to God when things go bad.
I am not very religious....mushy lapsed Catholic who's been horrified by my old church for many years.
But the conundrum of God meriting praise or blame for daily events is interesting to me.
Humm! I guess we can't let something good, just be something good. mquira, you say, "personally i think if you are to credit God for giving him this chance, then you should blame God for taking this man and making him homeless as well!!!" God does not allow bad things to happen to us, sin allows bad things to happen to us. God does not force us to worship Him. He gave us a choice. Ted went down the wrong path and then he found the right one. Let Ted give credit were credit is due. Besides which, God's Word never says that living a Christian life would be a rose garden. I would say if Ted has been sober for two years, then chances are he is going to make it now that he has found his faith. He even said in the Today Show interview that he has someone helping him sort out the good offers and bad ones. That is just good common sense. I like him. Keep the faith Ted. I believe in you.
Redneck Girl...you've got a point, and like Tony said, i've also felt that way about santa (when i was young)
Luis...you really need to wake up (my opinion) You say "one day i'll realize that God does exist"...well i think one day "you'll realize he doesnt exist". I guess time will only tell....the only difference is im not gonna live my life around something that is a "maybe"...and hope that one day i'll meet him. Religion is for people who need it....i dont need it. In fact, my outlook on life is to treat people the way in want to be treated, i take care of my wife, and children, and have many friends. I dont need to go to church, or a temple, or a mosque to be directed...i make my own choices....and one more thing Luis, why should i read the bible to find love...is god only preaching to catholics or christians...is not the same message in the Kuran, or does he not love any others.
And Sabrina....yes i said that if god gets the credit, he should also have gotten the blame to begin with. I'm just pointing out how "one-sided" this has become. Ted took to his own initiative to make his life better, because he must 've realized "this is not good". plain and simple. I dont think "god" put him there, and i dont think he got him out of that life. but once again....its my opinion...everyone is entitled to their own
Wow! So nice to hear about second chances. I wish him all the luck in the world, and I hope he has someone that loves him to take care of his new found financial opportunities. Great story!!!
What a wonderful, wonderful story! I will be praying for your success Ted!! I hope you get to see your mom very soon. Wish I could be a fly on the wall for that!
What a wonderful story. ( I am still crying as I write this) In this day of negative news, this was the ultimate sunshine, the breath of fresh air, the end of the rainbow as far as life goes. I am not a religious person, but the homeless will always have a place in my heart. Ted Williams, and his story, has renewed my faith and hope, that there is love and goodness in this world. Thanks to all those who are reaching out, to help him and others like him. I write poetry and my favorite poem is called A Tribute to the Homeless. I would ike Ted to have this. Is there anyway I can send this to him? Thanks again for airing this wonderful story.
Yes it would. Judging from the posts, we are quite a ways from that. I think that most would love to hear about the bad things so they can critique it. Oh yeah, they critique the good things too. I call them the Mrs. Oleson's of the world. Remember Little House?? It didn't matter the situation, she always had something to say. Ignore the nay sayers. Let them hate, that's their job. GOD is in control of everything.
What a wonderful story!! Only in America can a story of "second chance" and the results of using your own talents to become successful occur. For those who think "government" is the answer and the Democrat Party will help "those who need help" this just proves the Democrat and Obama philosophy doesn't work. Has government helped this man? No!! Government CANNOT help someone. It takes their own talents and hard work to succeed and if Obama has his way the private market will callapse.
Notice it took someone noticing FROM THE PRIVATE SECTOR to make a difference!! Now this man has been given a chance. Why? Because someone in the private sector believes this man can help their business. If their business succeeds they make a little more money. If the business makes a little more money then so does this individual. If this business takes a "chance" with this man and this man "falls off the wagon" then this man has only himself to blame and the business that took a risk will lose some money. THIS IS THE AMERICAN WAY!!
Why don't you Democrats see this? A man succeeds or fails on his OWN actions!! A business succeeds or fails on THEIR own actions!! Government: GET THE HECK OUT OF THE WAY!! The private market is not "evil" and it is ONLY the private market that can make an economy succeed or fail. Could this man have been given a chance if he was in, say, Cuba? Venezuela? France? Probably not. Only in America can a man make his OWN DESTINY!!
God bless this great nation and I hope we can stop Obama and the Democrats from RUINING IT!!
Why do you feel the need to tarnish this gorgeous story with your political rantings? This story transcends EVERYTHING that our limited, egotistical minds create on this Earth, including our diseased, dysfunctional political system.
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring in the politics....I can only hope that Mr. williams stays with his program and calls upon his higher power to keep him sober.
You see people, only mindless parrot talkers would find political implications in a story of inspiration. Think about it...MINDLESS...PARROT TALKER... low and limited intelligence that talks like a parrot, repeating the same thing over and over as a result of mimicking something heard. It's their only means of communication.
yo' OP, why don't you get your Repug politicians to have their Corporate cronies to bring back the jobs to America instead of sending them overseas and pocketing the profit for their selfish greed.
I don't see the fat Limburger or Loon Beck creating jobs! More like using lemmings like you to spread ridiculous reasoning to fatten their wallets.
Actually, this was my thought as well. He's been given a chance so he needs to take advantage of that chance and stay clean. Prior to this, he did not have the money. This could prove to be too much, too soon so he better seek some counsel on how to handle all the attention w/out turning to drugs/alcohol.
This is true. The Cavs would be doing him a big favor by assigning him a 'Life Coach' for a year. Heck, they can afford it. No doubt he'll have plenty of "old Friends" who are willing to help him with his new found riches.
I saw this story yesterday on "The Early Show". It was amazing. This morning they interviewed Mr. Williams mother. They had taken her to the airport to finally see her son after so many years. Unfortunately, the Today Show swept him off of the airplane before he had a chance to meet his mom in the airport. The Today Show took the most beautiful story in years and stole such an important part of it away to create better ratings. Shame on you Today.
Completely agree. How dumb do you think your viewers are, Today? Congratulations on being one of the first to exploit this poor man for your own benefit. I'm sure his 90 year old mother enjoyed the long ride to the airport in the cold only to find you took her son out the back door. And then your hosts sit there and have the nerve to ask him about his mother during the interview, as if they didn't know you left her behind at the airport? Shame on you all.
This sounds like a terrible accident (can't help but wonder how logistically difficult bringing this story together has been). Although so many businesses, politicians and the like take advantage of people (like 14 ounces of ice cream, previously sold as a pint-16 ounces, for the same price) I think we should see all of the other wonderful things happening to Ted as a blessing. He will see his mom so much more now that he can turn his life around. He needs to take the lead he has been given and move forward positively. Don't help an addict focus on the negative. It doesn't help, I know.
I am so overjoyed for this man! I am crying with happiness for him. My Kids ask "whats wrong mom?" I expiained my tears of joy and that good things really do happen. "Well why are bad things happening to us right now?" I explained that bad things can happen to good people. But see there is light at the end of the tunnel. You see I just lost my job last week after working there for 14 years. and we are almost 3 months behind on the mortgage due to slow hours this past summer. Kids have no idea we are about to be homless too. But there is light, I keep saying there is light.........
No, you are not going to be homeless! just ask God to help you and to take control of your financial issues and then he will provide. One thing is for sure the bank can't reposses your house just because you skipped three payments. there are many things that you can do to mitigate the issue about your mortgage!
God is with you and just need to understand that he want us to place our trust in him
Erin... I'm not even sure how to respond. Just know that after reading your post my prayers are with you, as I'm sure are many others who have read your post. Sometimes, (a lot if we're honest), life isn't fair. I'm glad to hear you're trying to stay positive. God will see you through. And my advice is if you have family to lean on....that's what they're there for. All my best.
Yes it's a great story on him getting a second chance, but it was a person that met him and listened to his voice that gave him his second chance. Not God!
lets see where that gets you shugga. keep coming back Ted.

Bless him.....
Nothing wrong with giving God, at least some of the credit.
If belief in God is what carried him, why rain on his parade?
Good luck Ted, it seems you have God and country behind you.
Cherish it!
CleverLes,
Your post is not very Christian-like now is it?
Hey bonos,
Just call it like I see...just because you believe in GOD does not mean you a wimp etc...I am personally sick of the liberal vomit of "would jesus do that" or "that is not christ like"...keep in mind god is a god of love and peace and good, but he is also a god of war and of punishment and a god of wrath...
@ luvmy2boys...there you go....you just made my point...more liberal vomit..
Wow....take a close look at that man's face and with such a great speaking voice....he just might be President Obama's long lost older brother !!!
That's funny tony!
"cause it's true!"
Matter of fact, I initially mistook one of those photo leads for an Obama story!
Rhazes...
good point. I believe it's called personal choice and responsibility. We are not told to sit around idle and expect God to do wondorous things in our lives. We have free will and choose the paths we take. It's just that believers feel they will be held accountable for the choices they've made, when their day comes...
Mark,
I am a registered Republican, so thank you for your "all knowing" post.
Clint...
Glad he got a hair cut...
tony, what an informed person you are. President Obama's father is deceased.
I bet this leech is back on the streets in no time. Now he's got a few bucks for his booze and crack. What disgusting piece of crap this guy is.

With all due respect Mark, if you think that this is how a Christian should act/speak...ie: lashing out, making judgemental, and backhanded insults and name calling, then really, it doesn't matter why I think his/her statement was un-Christian like.
REDNECK-
WOW!!! Redneck and that comment -- yep -- telling, very telling!!!
"RedneckCEO"
Even Rednecks have compassion, we all have skeletons in our closets, and everyone deserves a second chance. He may not be able to fight off the demons of his past, but that is no reason to be mean about him trying to become a better person. Shame on you for being so mean spirited. Have you ever tried to wright a wrong, did you deserve that second chance?
kat...
Just because Mr. Obama has said his father is deceased does not make that statement true. He says a lot of things.
i have a feeling you may have "stoopid" (intentional misspelling) or a swastika tattooed somewhere on your body.
Bethany,
Why the racist comments about white people? There is no reason for that here.
This is a great story, yet it only took a few posts before it got ugly.
you-tube; honkin on a crack pipe.believe this story is a lot like the song.enjoy and keep on honkin.
This is a great way to start the new year, second chances...Thank you, God!
like your going to wish the worst on people and only the worst "" duh
Thank you.
In gratitude with hope, joy and love in my heart!
Mary Perry
Your words have touched my heart. Thanks so much
Robert Walton
I couldn't have said it any better Mary; such insight into Ted's soul and spirit. God bless you.
Next thing you know, this guy will be dating a Kardashian sister or headlining 'Dancing With The Stars".
What does Santa Claus has to do with this story? God made all this possible. Without him we are nothing and have nothing....God is good
God didnt make this possible....the camera man did, then the today show!
I say, God seems like a Jerk if you ask me!
mgira,
You're an idiot.
Rachel....so i guess you believe in fairy tales??? And you believe in God, and you dont like hearing anything negative about Jesus's father....c'mon.
Would you please elaborate why you feel that way??? i think.
Doesnt God deserve the blame when it is due....why would people only give him credit (when they feel it is due)
i think fair is fair...if god gave Ted his 2nd chance, then he must've taken away his 1st chance...right....right!
Weteher you believe in a"greater power" or not is not a reason to deride other peoples opinions or beliefs. Shame on you.
mgira
Better to believe in God and find out he does not exist, than not to believe in God and find out he does exist.
That's how I've always felt about Santa Claus !

Ohmy what a testament of the goodness of our father in heaven, now pray that you don't slap him in the face by going back to drugs and such.
Sincerely,
Ted Dobson
I would be a wonderful world if we all helped each other.
Great! Now the private sector can offer jobs to the other 15,099,999 people who are looking for work in America. What are they waiting for?
Why do you feel the need to tarnish this gorgeous story with your political rantings? This story transcends EVERYTHING that our limited, egotistical minds create on this Earth, including our diseased, dysfunctional political system.
Good Lord. Can you give politics a rest for one minute?
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring in the politics....I can only hope that Mr. williams stays with his program and calls upon his higher power to keep him sober.
get over it, Bush and the republicans ran this counrty down, Obama trying his best to save whats left!
You see people, only mindless parrot talkers would find political implications in a story of inspiration. Think about it...MINDLESS...PARROT TALKER... low and limited intelligence that talks like a parrot, repeating the same thing over and over as a result of mimicking something heard. It's their only means of communication.
They can't help it, guys. A day without bashing your political opponent, is like a day without sunshine for these folk.
yo' OP, why don't you get your Repug politicians to have their Corporate cronies to bring back the jobs to America instead of sending them overseas and pocketing the profit for their selfish greed.
I don't see the fat Limburger or Loon Beck creating jobs! More like using lemmings like you to spread ridiculous reasoning to fatten their wallets.
This guy has a history. I hope he can stay off of booze and drugs now that he has found some work.
Way to encourage!!! NOT!!!
EVERYONE has a history.
Good Luck Radio man! One day at a time Brother~~~
They did get to meet each other! Maybe not at the airport. So y'all watch tomorrow's episode in Today. :D
Wonderful! Best wishes to this man!
No doubt he has a history, but with the grace of God, we all pray and hope that he will be able to stay off the drugs and booze.
What a wonderful story! Let's hope it all works out for him. Seems like a lovely man.
OMG Erin2875100...everything is going to be ok with you and your family! You are gong to get a job soon, in the animal industry.
No, you are not going to be homeless! just ask God to help you and to take control of your financial issues and then he will provide. One thing is for sure the bank can't reposses your house just because you skipped three payments. there are many things that you can do to mitigate the issue about your mortgage!
God is with you and just need to understand that he want us to place our trust in him
God bless you
Karen:OMG Erin2875100...everything is going to be ok with you and your family! You are gong to get a job soon, in the animal industry.
That is pretty nasty to say! Why the animal industry?? This is a retarded sentiment. Yeah, I said it.
It's more than retarded, it's mean, malicious and wicked.
