Why do some people think that if you cant buy a gun legally that a criminal will follow the rules? If a criminal is a person not following the law, why would they obtain a firearm legally? That does not make sense. So allow law abiding citizens to carry firearms legally to defend themselves from those that threaten us and that don't abide by the law. If this guy could use an extended magazine to his 'advantage', I can use the exact same thing to get an advantage to defend myself.

I am so sorry this happened to all these innocent people.  I hope all the wounded will survive.  This was just terrible.  They need to get these meetings inside a building with metal detectors, and not let anyone in that can't pass the detectors, except for security of course.

The G18 mag he used holds 33 rounds, not 30 rounds as reported in this article. Reports I've heard from sources who actually understand these things are that the 33 rd magazine malfunctioned, and that is what stopped the shooter long enough to be tackled...his gun was broken.
