Old Me - Have you ever applied for a driver's license in NJ? You need that birth certificate. Have you ever applied for a job that had a requirement that you were born in the US? How else do you prove it without a birth certificate? I found it really ironic that I was asked by a man of middle eastern descent who was speaking broken english to prove that I was a US citizen when I was born and raised within 20 miles of the DMV office. Irony aside, I still had to show my birth certificate.

I know US citizens here in NJ that have been taken into custody and held at the police station simply because they did not have ID on them and they were in an area where the police were looking for someone who might have been breaking into houses.

Donald Trump has said he's 'considering' running for President often in the past, as part of his promoting himself or something else. He's not a serious candidate, and has obviously killed any chances he might have with his 'birther' comments.

He/she needs to be an American, meaning they can be born to American citizens who are outside of the U.S. at the time of the birth. I would say in any case, it probably has a lot more to do with a struggling economy than anything. Many of the casinos that are struggling are those that are in tourist destinations that people visit simply for the casinos, where other casinos, that are in areas not really known for having casinos are fairing better. For example, Vegas and Atlantic City casinos were all reporting their profits being down by huge margins last year, while the large casino I work at in MN faired pretty well. The reason, people from MN who may have traveled to Vegas or Atlantic City for vacation opted for the more affordable staycation and spent their money here.

There are plenty of black people I would vote for in a presidential election... Colin Powell was at the top of my list. I don't care about Obama's race; my problem is with his values (or lack of them). He is trying to force his 'change' on us, and when it comes to what is best for America it is on the bottom of his list of priorities. He is too busy kissing ass and pouring money into other countries to care about us.

I don't agree with foreign aid no matter who does it, and so far most presidents have just made it worse, not just Obama, and I really think Trump has the right idea on that. We have starving, homeless people right here (many of them are veterans) and the school system is a disaster. Drugs, illegal weapons, human trafficking, illegal immigrants draining the system... this country's needs and problems should hold highest priority. Until our country is in better shape and the national debt is cleared, foreign aid should stop, or at the very least be drastically reduced.

This country has been having economic problems for at least 4 decades. Everyone wants to blame it on the current (or just past) President, but the truth is, it's been stewing for quite a long time. While some presidents' decisions have made things a bit worse, no one can blame any one person for the state we are in now. I felt the same 2 decades ago and have watched the slow, but steady, decline. That being said, Trump is all about Trump, and if anyone thinks for a millisecond that he'd consider the good and welfare of the people and the country before he thinks of what he might gain, for himself, they're delusional. Why does Cosby want Trump to run or not?

It was supposed to be an interview and segment on what Cos and Stanley Battle are trying to achieve with kids and education. Everyone did notice that the segment started out as part of Education Nation Today, right? Viera is the one who led into the whole Trump thing and took the focus off of what was supposed to be the important issue. I imagine that Cos will not be kindly disposed towards granting her any time, in the future, unless it is clearly understood that the issue at hand will be the only subject discussed.

I thought that the concept of Vouchers was so that the poor and middle class kids could go to the private schools along with the rich kids and get a better education than we provide in the public schools.

The private school teachers are generally paid on par with the public school teachers and usually without the same benefit packages, so I'm not sure about it being a matter of giving the public school teachers more money. You would need to be able to get rid of the bad teachers that arein the public schools to bring in new and better teachers anyway. I think that it's more a matter of discipline and environment that separate the private from the public school approach to education that produces the better results. Most people work harder when it is made clear to them that if you fail there are consequences. This is a concept that seems lacking in the public schools.

The public school system is probably unfixable, and it is inherently unfair because you have to use the school where you can afford to live. The schools are very unequal in quality and even safety. Imagine if you were arbitrarily assigned a doctor or lawyer on the basis of address, taxed up the wazoo to pay for it, and out of luck if you wanted somebody different? Charter schools and magnet schools are great, but not everyone can get in. The only problem I can see with vouchers is that they might not be sufficient to actually pay tuition, and the poor cannot afford to pay the additional amount. There are various ways around this, though.

I have been a fan of Donald Trump's Apprentice shows from the very beginning. I even watch them now with my kids and ask them questions about how they would handle being project manager of a particular situation. There are teaching elements in everything. Our president has went back on all his promises to the American people. He has shown his true side by his own actions and words. As for Bill Crosby, he has done his share of good works and did some things that most wouldnt even dream about doing. But you can say one thing, since the 60s he has backed everyone in his ethic group and stood up for them, this shows he takes pride in his heritage. As for throwing up slavery though why not look at the way both whites and blacks treated the Native Americans? They were treated worse than slaves. Instead of just having to work and live thru hell they got killed out and yet everyone seems to forget that part and just bring up the civil war.

But who would I vote for in a race with only Obama and Trump running and didnt have the option to write Bozo the clown in, I would pick Trump, he does know how to create jobs and make money. Now that's funny. This whole interview turned out to be a joke. Anything that Cosby tried to say was overshadowed by the sensationalism of the Today Show agenda. I quit watching the show some time ago because it can not be taken seriously.

Brazos, Trump has made a lot of money off of a lot of people. I would like to know how many bankruptcies he's had. He also bilked a lot from the condo development in Cabo San Lucas saying it was a sure deal. It went belly up.

If anything at all, Donald Trump is just trying to get his ratings up for his show. If he gets people to thinking that he is running more people will watch it. Maybe he should be asked to show is birth certificate or better yet where he was hatched. Where did he get that hair piece?

after reading through all of these comments i finally get to one that realizes exactly what viera did. sadly, because of the interview we have fellow americans focusing on all of the wrong things and name calling etc...it's nice to know that bill cosby is out on the streets trying to good work and i think it's fine that donald trump has his own opinions about the president. it also sits well with me that mr. cosby has his own opinion about mr. trump. it means nothing to me. why must everyone bark at each other?

Disappointed, you're absolutely right. I wish Bill had not taken the bait, but Vieira kept pushing till she got what she wanted. Now most people have missed the whole point of Cosby's appearance on the show. What a shame! And I've always liked Meredith Vieira. Never thought she'd do something like that!

I have been wondering that same thing myself. watching some of her interviews is humiliating for the entire today show.
