I got married in Vegas on a Thursday night.... 20 people flew across the country to attend and it was wonderful!

My daughter had her wedding on a Friday night. She (read: her dad and I) saved so much money by having it then. Over 200 people attended.

I went to a very high end NYC wedding on a Thursday night; it was a disaster, I never got through the meal; had to work Fri - awful idea

Ultimately, it's the couple's choice, but if they expect high attendance among those who work,they will be disappointed. I wouldn't make it

I saved a ton of money on food, reception center, and post wedding travel by getting married on a Tuesday.

My wedding was on a Friday at 1 in the afternoon. The church I wanted was booked the Saturday we could do it. It was great!

if u get a ROD and u know early i am sure the office will consider yr day off its cheaper and spontaneous places r fun its the company.

If local, great option! If we had to travel, it would make it less likely we would go if we both had to take 2-3 days of vacation.

It's annoying because it requires time off that a weekend wedding would not. But if I had the time and was close enough to the couple...

I got married on a Tuesday. Special meaning in date. We only invited close family and friends. No regrets.

Friday weddings are okay by me, as are Sunday weddings of a holiday weekend. Other dates are purely selfish IMHO.

My brother/sis in law got married on a Friday afternoon. Granted it wasn't a big wedding (got married by a local judge) but about 30 people took off work to attend this big day for them. We went to the court house for the wedding, then went to a local restaurant for dinner and then to a friends house for a "reception" where we had cake and opened gifts. We had a ball and it was a nice way to start a weekend. Who cares if we all had to use one vacation day (some only used 1/2 a day as it was in the afternoon) we got to be part of their special day.

Our wedding was on a Tuesday in February and the 4 friends that came in from out of town loved that they got to take a little vacation in the middle of the week and still had their weekend to themselves. Local friends and family loved that it was any excuse to take a day off from work.

I loved it because getting married in the off season and during the week means everything is cheaper (food, reception center, post wedding travel, flowers) and I wasn't fighting other brides for what I wanted.

There's nothing wrong with getting married on a weekday. Some people have come to break weekend traditions for many reasons. I have attended a Friday wedding and it was extraordinary and fun!
