The trial is over. It's time to move on and think about things like: endless war, political corruption, a failing economy, and a country that cannot provide jobs to it's workers.
Let's just say (for the sake of an argument) that it was an accident that the family covered up. So, Casey didn't tell anyone for a few weeks that her daughter was dead. Casey claims that her child was kidnapped, was missing, was just gone and goes on benders that were photographed, oops. She then told her parents, whom were so guilt riddled (because of something that happened to Casey during her youth- purely speculating) that they chose to help her cover things up with the t-shirts and searches. Casey lies to the police, oops. Her dad then diddles someone helping with the search, oops. Then her mom testifies that she liked to search about "clorophyl", but is proven to lie, oops.
Yeah, I buy the idea that no one in that family gets out normal. I truly think that Casey will get a lot of money for interviews (why not? We gleefully pay pregnant teens, druggies, drunk idiots, etc. for tv time and appearances), love the attention she'll get, write a book, get proceeds from a few movies, and live like OJ until someday she assaults someone for something else.
There is a bright side though: If the defense attorney has a daughter, the proceeds he just made from this case can go towards a camcorder which will be used to film her first home-porn and start a fruitful career just like Kim K. did.
Since she has nowhere to go, it'll be only a matter of time before O.J. reaches out to her, offering up residence in his house so that they can both strategize over how they should both find the true killers of their beloved victims.
Though she was found "not guilty" that does NOT MEAN she "didn't do it". This guy is right, she was in fact guilty as hell. Partying, hmm..., she best be watching her back in that city, crazies out there.
She best just change her name and get out of town, and if I were her brother or father, accussed of "molesting" her, which is a complete and vicious lie, there would be hell to pay.
There is a huge difference between "Not Guilty" and "Innocent". The State put on a completely circumstantial case, while asking for the most extreme punishment. The Jury followed the rule of law, and if asked, they would all likely admit that they "know" she is guilty of the crime against her daughter, but the Prosecution failed to remove all doubt. If you want to point fingers, point them at the Prosecution Team for failing to deliver a case to the Jury that would have convicted her. Anthony "Got away with Murder" however, I for one, remain supportive of our Constitutional Protections, in spite of the failed verdict.
Only god and this liar (Casey) know how that baby was murdered. But being that the jury let her off so that she can go back out into the world make another child IS wrong. I don't wish anything bad on the citizens that served, but I do want them to see this dead baby girl every night in their sleep with tape on her mouth and 'THEY THEMSELVES closing that trunk of that car.
JCB- I totally agree with you! This was a gross miscarriage of justice. I was more shocked yesterday than I was when OJ got away with murder. you expect it more when they're celebrities. I hope her family kicks her to the curb, though I doubt they will. When 90% of America thinks she's guilty and 12 jurors come back that soon with not-guilty, there is a problem. Shame, shame, shame on our UNjustice system!
Well said, I do think she knows more than she is saying and that her father also knows more than he is saying but in this case the state did not prove their case and reasonable doubt exists. That said, she will never have much of a life after all the interviews, movies or books that will surely be written, made or viewed dies down. She will be shunned by society.
Paul West, You're right! This case was tried in the media; instead of properly in the courtroom. It was the responsibility of the Prosecutors to prove "Beyond Reasonable Doubt" that Casey was guilty of this crime. Bottom line, that wasn't done or the verdict would have been quite different.
People can't tear at the Jury. It isn't the Jury's job to second guess or "connect the dots" in the Prosecutions case. It is the Prosecutions job to lay out, with verifiable evidence, motive, how and when the child died. That wasn't done, plain and simple.
As a result, the Defense Team moved in with a plausible alternative to Caylee's death. Casey may have been a party girl; however, there were grandparents ready and willing to take Caylee, Casey didn't need to murder her. Did Caylee die as a result of an accidental drowning, accidental killing or premeditated action... We will never know at this point..
We don't always get the verdict we want. Just feeling or knowing someone is guilty isn't the same as proving guilt in a court of law. It's not the jury's fault either, they based their decisions on inconclusive evidence presented by the Prosecution. Plain and simple. Our Judicial System isn't perfect, this is a perfect example of that. However, it is still the best system around. I would rather swallow a verdict, that I, heartfelt, disagree with,.. Than convict any innocent person in the Media and send them to their deaths...
Bottom Line... Caylee is in a place where she is truly loved and wanted; the Ex-Fiancee is better off away from Casey and this dysfunctional family; Casey is going to be considered a "Murderess" by people wherever she goes and is better off changing her name and moving to another country; the Anthony Family is broken and twisted.
There is much need for repentance here, and Casey should be the first on her knees.. Caylee's Murderer (whoever that is) will be held accountable... If not in this world; than, in the next.....
There are 2 people who know what happened. One has passed on. The other is a chronic liar. If she in fact had something to do with her daughter's death it will all be judged someday. She will die also and at that time her memories will come crashing in including what she did to her flesh and blood this innocent life she helped create. And if she has a soul she will never rest in peace for eternity. This mother's day will come. Maybe not tomorrow or the next day or even next year but the judgment day will come. When at her death she weighs the good and bad in her life. Her soul will not rest in peace...This suffering and punishment will be more than any court could ever administered. She if in fact did this, has not confessed here but when she lies dying she will have no choice but to remember and confess her sins to herself. Her soul will never rest in peace. There is justice it will come in the end...
waye45. I've been researching near death experiences and there are now firsthand accounts to back up your beliefs.
I think this one is especially appropriate. This is from a man who has spent his entire adult life putting profit at the top of his priorities ("to support his family"). His heart and lungs have stopped functioning following a car accident.
Darkness falls over his eyes. He hears moans and cries. He sees that he has been suspended above a pit. He can't move, like he has been bound in some way. The pit is infinite and is terribly hot. He hears a voice (male) like thunder. It says something like, " not yet" or "it is not your time". He sees a huge finger, then a whole hand emerge through a barrier and it grabs him by the waist and the bonds are gone.
He has been dead for over five minutes. Then he has an out of body experience as he is revived.
Jesus said that there are many rooms in His Father's mansion. There is one for people like this mother. I doubt either of us will see that room, but I wonder if there is a special place for the children of parents who teach children that it's OK to lie.
There's a great book (out of print, now) by Christian psychiatrist M. Scot Peck called "People of the Lie". It's a horrifying description of Ms Anthony's diagnosis, malignant narcissism. I recommend it to you. It may have been a blessing that the child did not have time to grow up to be like her mother and grandmother. " The sins of the parents will be visited upon the children ...".
To Dirk & Diane-- I too felt she was guilty of killing her child. But no way in Hell will I condemn the jurors for making the ONLY CHOICE they had. Dirk, you say you want them to dream about that child every night in their sleep. They probably will, but if at some point in time it ever comes to light just exactly how Caylee died and her mother DIDN'T do it, how do you think they would sleep knowing they convicted her and it resulted in HER execution because they listened to all those shark in the water lusting for her blood??? It is said it is better to let a guilty person go free than convict an innocent one. That is especially true if the DEATH PENALTY is involved. That is one verdict you cannot reverse.
A person can be a complete louse-- a backstabbing gossip, a jealous, grasping jerk, or a psychopathic liar, a thief, a miser, a self serving s.o.b. who is indifferent to anyone's well being except his or her own, an adulterer or adulteress, but he or she may never be guilty of breaking one Commandment---the fifth or sixth, depending on your bible--thou shalt not kill(murder).
I am certainly in the minority on this case. I don't think she killed her child, but I think she knows who did, and how, when, where, but she is so hurt by the loss of that child that she reacted in the way she did and is now doing. She is terribly afraid of telling what she knows. She fears for her own life. And her heart is broken. The only person who ever truly loved her was her daughter. This young mother needed the help of some good doctors and maybe even then she would never have been able to live a normal life. No one in that family is capable of living a normal life. And it won't be improved because of this trial. I'm afraid for her.
Oh, please! Helen, you have got to be kidding. I agree that the family cannot live a normal life, as they all seem to have issues. But just look at her behavior and the string of lies she has told and the different stories to explain why Caylee wasn't there. I hope that she leads a crappy, unfulfilled life from now on. Instead of being afraid for her, I'd be afraid of her!
Hey msnbc how bout being helpful and report on that poor missing 17 yo who got in a truck a week ago with stranger's and never returned! Take this sicko's pictures and article's down. Its over, for now.....
Casey will be shunned as the 'leper' she is. No one will hire her. She will not be welcomed anywhere. Any friends she may make will (no doubt) be as vacuous and dishonest as she is. I give it a few years before she becomes seriously addicted to drugs and kills herself. Even she knows she doesn't deserve a future.
Casey will not be shunned by anyone she cares for. Many will throw money at her feet for words and pictures. She will be welcome in those places she wants to be. Do you really think she cares or even knows whether or not her friends are vacuous and dishonest? She will die at the age of 110 of a case of the flu. That's life. deal with it.
The Anthony family is no where near as "dysfunctional" as our legal system. The system let ... no ... encouraged ... a psychopathic liar & a jailhouse lawyer to take advantage of 12 soft headed idiots and our sense of justice!
When we as a nation are trying to pull ourselves together ... this didn't help!
Well, I will be sure that ANY company that pays for her story - book, movie, etc. - will be on my permanent boycott. I will send them letters and let them know that they would be profitting from the death of a child. Note that People magazine has already said they will not buy Casey's story since it would trigger a boycott of massive proportions.
Shunned as Leper , maybe in some circles, but not all people in this world are calleous as you, there are kind loving people who WIll take her in and give her the HELP she needs and guidance to a better life .
Juror #14 (an alternate) was interviewed on "On the Record with Greta..." on FOX last night. This particular juror bought into the accidental drowning BS. She said the prosecution did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt, but at the same time she suspends all her reasonable doubt to buy into a theory unsupported by any evidence and so utterly unlikly that it boggles the mind. Obviously the other were just as dense as #14, which explains how they arrived at "not guilty". Its a sad day in American justice.
I'm sure if you went down to one of the main streets ... in your city ... at night ... on a corner ... you can find your own little Casey "for a price" ... "Casey in Wonderland" baggage included!
Strangely.....Casey will most likely do just fine. There are people in this world who THRIVE on paying homage to people like Casey, and there are plenty of people like Casey who devour the attention. One dysfunctional hand washes the other. Sick individuals.
The grandparents are probably the ones who will fare the worst. They have been accused of many things in court, and in the media. True or not, people will believe what they want to believe, based on their very own life experiences.
I truly believe that if Caylee were indeed found floating in the pool, that George would have IMMEDIATELY called 911 NO MATTER WHAT. No doubt in my mind. WHY would Casey choose to spend 3-YEARS in jail if Caylees death were indeed an accident, and could easily be explained away? That's the part that's curious to me.
But the dye has been cast, and it is what it is. The jury has spoken, and it is over, at least for the public. Meanwhile, this family is left in ashes, and will most likely never recover from the finger pointing, the innuendo, and the media hype.
That's what they thought about OJ, however he had everything after he killed his wife and was acquitted. He had money, fame, women, exclusive golf memberships, personal thugs, you name it. Anthony will be the same, she won't lose a seconds sleep. She has no conscience, and she can buy friends. People will be showering her with money for book deals, pictures, movies, etc. This is the best thing that ever happened to her, she has it made, she will never have to work another day her whole life.
chillyindy, well it looks like you and casey are two in a pod, maybe you two can meet, get married and have kids that one day she will throw in a swamp.
My words to you are that there are many many pretty women in the world and because of what she did and who she is that makes her ugly and you do not have a moral fiber in your body.
Casey Anthony is guilty as sin! Any jerk that would date her is just as sick and dangerous as she is. Caylee was murdered by her mother and this jury could not possibly have reviewed all the evidence in10 hours. I think they just wanted to go home shame on them..shame on the defense team for partying after the verdict. My thoughts and prayers are with Cindy and George. My porch light will stay on in memory of Caylee Anthony. Our system failed in this case. She got away with murder.
bstatti, I agree 100 percent, I don't believe the jury had time to review the evidence, it was too quick, one of the jurrors had a cuise to go on july 7 tomorrow, they were tired and in their fatigue were not thinking clearly. They came into the court room Tuesday morning all dressed up, which they had not done previously so they knew after only 5 hours that they were going to find her not guilty. The men would not have been wearing suits unless they thought they were not going to be there for long.
Is this how you comfort yourself because of the not guilty verdict? I just trying to understand that if these things happen, how does this help you, or our society, prevent another family from harming children?
EJcavern, this has nothing to do with knowing what she is thinking. This is simple rational thought. This young woman is an hedonist. While the case was never conclusively proven, there was more then sufficient evidence to indicate that she is the only person who could have had hand in the death of her daughter. And I simply do not buy the story of the drowning and the subsequent actions. It's ludicrous.
The trial is over, but justice did not come to light. The Anthony family will take this one to their grave. Casey is set free after committing murder and another horrific story will go down in history as it goes to show everyone that some people can get away with just about anything. It is a sad day, the aftermath of true disappointment. What a disgrace to our System and Country and Little Caylee, as she will not see justice and action being taken.
People keep talking about how awful the defense was... but in this case I think the prosecution really dropped the ball. This family truly was dysfunctional, and trying to portray them as loving was a huge mistake. Focusing on the "party girl" lifestyle was a mistake too... as sketchy as that is, it just isn't a solid motive. The prosecution should have focused on three uncertainties... the duct tape, the month of not reporting her missing, and the web of lies Casey told when confronted. They should have stuck with those three points and driven them home. I think they spent too much time on the chloroform search and the smell in her car... both could have been compelling pieces of evidence, but were half-baked and totally inconclusive.
The defense had one line: no proof of how Caylee died, no DNA evidence=reasonable doubt. They were a broken record with it, but it worked. Personally, I think she did it, but I would have had a really hard time giving Casey the death sentence without proof of death and DNA on the body.
This truly is the old game of gossip. The media took this case from the start and demonized this woman from @!$%#ty police work and got reporters waiting for a juicy story they could make money off of since the economy is shot. So lets spin untruths !!!!! Everyone in the USA deserves a fair trial . Spinning a web of I do not Know what happened is Wrong!!!!!! There are other issues that were not addressed. The person who is responsable is shaking in there boots. The wrong person was on trial!!!! It was a perfect cover up of what realy happened . That takes a skilled person or people to do this !!! Go figure!!!!

LITTLE CAYLEE ANTHONY--SUCH A BEAUTIFUL GIRL MAY NO LONGER BE WITH US IN THIS WORLD FOR WHATEVER REASON--SHE MAY NO LONGER BE HERE NOW THERE IS HEARTACHE AND SO MANY TEARS WHY DID THIS HAPPEN--WE NEED TO KNOW WHERE DID THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE GIRL GO CASEY ANTHONY MUST BE INSANE SHE IS A MOTHER ONLY IN NAME GOD PLEASE HELP US TO FIND CAYLEE HELP US TO FIND HER--WHEREVER SHE MAY BE BUT IF SHE IS AN ANGEL ALL HAPPY AND FREE WE WILL STILL LOVE AND REMEMBER CAYLEE MARIE
The woman will capitalize upon her notoriety and controversial position just as fellow malignant narcissist Sarah Palin has done. Being a consummate liar, she will deceive people. If she can con police, she can con people who aren't used to being lied to. She will start by having criminal friends from being in jail.
Just because she is a criminal, does not mean she will be ostracized by everyone, just honest people.
Recall that OJ was entertained in Florida for years after his acquittal.
Mary, this has nothing to do with Palin, but I agree with you on the rest....I am sure she was already living that part of her life before all of this.
I agree with Mary's drawing a similarity to Sarah Palin. Both women have the lying narcissistic attitude that if they believe something that makes it true-an epidemic in this country.
Just because the judge decided not to include evidence of sexual abuse does not mean it did not happen. We know this lesson from the Catholic Church clerical abuse crisis. Bishops don't believe the adult victim because they favor the priest molester. That being said, her lying is not due to narcissism but accommodation to childhood sexual abuse in which lying is but one of the many manifestations of what children have to do when their protectors are their perpetrators.
I have worked with many children of sexual abuse and NONE of them exhibited the type of sociopathic behavior that Casey had. Whether she was molested or not, and I doubt it because there was not an inkling of proof, it doesn't explain her lies and actions.
The night before Caylee went missing, Casey had a huge argument with her mother, when her mother insisted she take more responsibility for Caylee. She told her cellmate in prison that she used chloroform to put Caylee to sleep in the past to go out....it wasn't allowed in due to a technicality. I could go on and on why she is totally narcissistic. When you sitting in jail and your daughter is "missing" do you rail at your parents because they are more interested in finding Caylee, than on her being in jail. This is not the behavior of someone "keeping secrets" due to abuse. When she took Caylee's baby book out of the hands of the deputy, and said "here look at the pictures of me." That not "keeping secrets." That's no one matters in this world except me. Do "keeping secrets" result in stealing checks and check fraud, and running up thousands on her mother's credit cards. Do "keeping secrets" involve lying about having a job? Absolutely no, to all of these.
"I have worked with many children of sexual abuse and NONE of them exhibited the type of sociopathic behavior that Casey had."
Maybe this is a variation that you have not worked with as of yet and can learn more about. If you so choose, you can check out Dr. Ronald Summit and childhood abuse accommodation syndrome.
As you know working with victims who have been sexually abused they vary according to the environment. Casey had a violent home life. I can't imagine living in that house molested by your father no one protects you and still have to perform as if nothing happens.
"Whether she was molested or not, and I doubt it because there was not an inkling of proof, it doesn't explain her lies and actions."
Yes, it does. It explains how she had to cope in an environment that your perpetrator is your protector. What I've learned is to have an open mind to the experiences of others just because I haven't run into them before.
"She told her cellmate in prison that she used chloroform to put Caylee to sleep in the past to go out....it wasn't allowed in due to a technicality."
What technicality was that? How do you know this is one of her truths and not a lie?
"I could go on and on why she is totally narcissistic. Absolutely no, to all of these."
I disagree. Casey is not narcissistic, Casey is wounded. Her frustration is because she has been abused verbally and sexually and physically by her parents and like a small girl needing love and kindness craved them from others.
She has been a scapegoat of her parents most of her life. It is her parents who are the narcissistic ones, they have succeed in fooling the public with their social persona. Lying and stealing are both manifestations from sexual abuse, a way to get your needs met since no one helps you and your family hurts you. She has a tragic story. I wish healing for her wounds.
wrong on every count. i have worked with adult incest survivors and there was not one thing during that trial to substantiate that, not one! just because someone is a narcissistic sociopath, that doesn't mean he/she has been abused. people lie, steal, cheat, kill for reasons other than abuse. the very mention of sexual abuse and some of those who have been close to victims or have been one, jump to conclusions. people like you are dangerous because they send out the message that you can get away with murder if you cry abuse. the people i worked with would NEVER claim they hurt anyone, lied, stole, whatever because they were abused. true victims would go to the end of the earth to protect their children. not leave them in the hands of their abusers.
there was nothing presented, whatsoever during that trial that showed that casey was abused. nothing that showed she had a violent home life. nothing but an accusation by her attorney, not even from casey herself!
People get away with murder every day. Facts may have been circumstantial, but plan common sense tells me she is guilty. An innocent person does not lie and try so hard to hide the truth. She is guilty by public opinion, will always be guilty and will pay the ultimate price some day. Hopefully it won't be after she has another baby who cramps her style and ends up dying a tragic unexplained death.
An innocent person would have called the police immediately after child was missing. They wouldn't have gotten a tatoo the next day and slept over their boyfriend's house....they would by hysterical. Like someone who lost their kid in a department store for a second!! DUH!
"plain common sense" tells me otherwise. IMHO, The kid drowned in the pool all by herself in the blink of an eye and they decided to deal with it in their "dysfunctional" way and not trust the cops, to get rid of the body on their own. A killer sociopath does not spring up all of a sudden. They have a record of violence in their past, violent crimes, killing animals, etc. Casey had none of that and no record of child abuse and further, she's female, which makes it even more unlikely that she's going to suddenly start killing people, beginning with her own baby. Common sense says the kid died by accident, and we already know they're liars, and the liars tried to cover it up. Liars yes. Murderers no.
Ken.....it's people like you that are the reason that women get away with things in the first place.
Do you honestly believe that she could not have done these things because she's a woman? Really? What bygone era are you from to be as naive as that? Women have committed murder just as men have throughout the ages. They've gotten away with it, more often than not, because of people with your mind-set....."Oh, she's just a woman. She couldn't have POSSIBLY done something that reprehensible." WTF does her gender have anything to do with this? You think that, just because she's female, that she's instantly loving and nurturing? That's clearly NOT the case here. I guarantee that, if she were a guy, she'd be in jail and awaiting death. Maybe you were one of the jurors that messed this affair up?
agreed! agreed! and plenty of people kill without having had any criminal history or violence in their past. and a pathological liar is a dangerous person. common sense says that if your child dies by accident you call the paramedics in a hope to revive your child and if not bury them peacefully.
Liars would lie to cover up something they did. If Caylee did accidentally drown, there's no reason to lie, is there, Ken? A pathological liar will only resort to lying if it's worth the effort. Why spin a lie around something that he/she did not do or cause? That goes beyond common sense, even when it comes to liars. They would have the common sense to know that spinning lies around an accident would only lead to the trouble they had to deal with the last few years.
Only a sociopath who has a basic understanding of the consequences of his/her action would weave a web of lies and deceit. See the results: the truth was so obscured that it was the one thing that was not seen. All the peripheral drama was put to fore, but the basic facts were ignored: a child is dead; the one person who knew what happened, who should be caring for her displayed behavior inconsistent of a parent with a missing child; a report was made of the missing child not hours after the incident, not a day, not two, not even three, but a month after. Any one with common sense will think that that parent has something to do with the child's fate.
If my 4-month old son suddenly disappeared, I would go nuts looking for him the moment I realize he's missing. That's not common sense: that's a basic instinct.
so you all would have convicted someone in the absence of real evidence? Based on conjecture and circumstantial evidence?
The American Legal System is setup in the manner it is so that people won't use "common sense" as some of you say and will instead follow the EVIDENCE which this case sorely lacked. Do I THINK she did it, yes, I think so but I also would have given a not guilty verdict because the evidence just wasn't there.
As ARG0216 said, "American justice may be the best in the world, yet it's still very flawed.". I believe that we must all move on now and let it go. To carry hate and animosity in your heart will only leads to bad things for all. Don't be so judgmental of others without facts is the lesson to be learned. Don't let the media dictate what the "facts" are. Everyone said she was guilty before the trial even started based on the irresponsible media reporting.
J-dubs- Nope...I certainly would not have. I think the whole thing turned into a big mess. Law enforcement did not do enough and the trial was a joke. How could a jury find her guilty with this whole mess?
Logically, this whole affair was wrong. A woman who should've been found guilty of at least negligible homicide is, instead, walking around in the open air. Her daughter is dead and nothing can bring the girl back. Justice was not served. It was circumvented.
yeah, the prosecutors should be fired. You do not take a case to court due to public pressure if you can't win it or at least get a split of the jury for a mistrial. You wait a year or 2 and try her if need be because now you can NEVER try her for this murder again. Complete incompetency ruled this trial on the prosecution side.
All these people that say she did it, why did you not come forth as witnesses ? Could have saved a ton of time ! Considering the history of that family it could have been any one of the 3. Knowing her tendencies to be able to spin lies could have been pressured into taking the fall as a coverup ... I mean there are a million scenarios that could play out. We don't know what happened, pure and simple. Guessing just doesn't get the information you need to develop what really happened, so why not just let it go ? She can't be retried and she isn't serving any time. Her life will certainly be hard enough from here out by public accusations and opinions alone.
No amount of speculation or assumption will ever bring this little girl back. Let it go, let her rest now. Who cares what happens to Casey at this point ?
Forgot to add Gertrude Baniszewski. All of those were in the same century; the farther back you go the worse some of them get.
Some of the most horrifying murders in history have been perpetrated by women. There are many known cases of mothers killing their children, but only a few make the news so we don't hear about the rest. It seems that when a child is murdered by a family member it is usually the mother.
I agree with Grund that Casey will not go back with her family and that they are completely dysfunctional. I disagree with Grund regarding her having boat loads of money, "friends" to party with, etc.
She should not benefit from this case financially, but if she does, any and all funding she receives should go toward paying her legal fees which I believe were paid by the state of Florida?
Something tells me that we are going to watch a gradual implosion.Â
As bitter a pill as it may be, there is NOTHING the legal system can do to prevent Casey from signing book and movie deals and amassing any wealth she wants from her notoriety. In the eyes of the legal system, she is innocent of murdering Caylee and will be for the remainder of her life, even if she admits to the murder tomorrow.
And I wouldn't shed any tears for Baez. He's already got book deals signed and he'll now have a thriving practice as a result of his victory (a la Johnny Cochrane).
Are you kidding? I guess you've never seen the Lifetime channel, huh? Those morons will be making movies about this case....guaranteed. Books? Oh yeah....she'll get book deals.
Let's face it....Americans may cry out in times of injustice.....but we, as a country, thrive on misery and the media LOVES to exploit it. It sells. Yes, she certainly will make a boat-load of cash from this. Just ask O.J.
Book deal? Who in there right mind would want to buy a book telling what we've seen since day one. She has no before or during to talk about that would make a full story as is needed. The entire familey is nuts. The earth will continue to turn and no one will remember her in a few years. New events, of the times, will erase that. Perhaps that will be justice in itself for her.
Charley- In a perfect world, that would be the case. You and I both know, however, that this world is far from a perfect one. If it were, would we even be discussing this issue in the first place?
Thank God someone in that universe speaks truth! Too bad it did not happen prior to Caylee's death, but unfortunately, hindsight is always 20/20. Thank you Jesse, for speaking out!
She will get book deals, movie deals, interview offers, etc...She will have the life she wants, all because she murdered her daughter. That will be with her for the rest of her life.
She will only get movie deals, book deals, etc...if WE allow her to do it!! It's the demented public who can't wait to go see her movie or read her book that makes this all too famous. So let's just say "NO!!!"
Cat- I doubt she'll give a damn. Maybe she'll have regrets on her death-bed. Big deal. By then it's too late.
Boneill- Riiiiiiight.....and then reality hit. Just ask O.J. America thrives on misery and loves dirty laundry. Our media exploits the hell out of this stuff every day because it sells....and the world is buying.
If anyone supports any venue that exploits the case is sick!! I wont be buying any books, watching any movies, etc... She is a sick evil person that should have paid for killing her precious little girl!!
Justice for Caylee Marie will NEVER Happen now that the killer just got away with Murder!!
Justice... Then why are you reading/watching all the news coverage? You're just contributing to the media sensation and making this woman more famous with every comment.
I will never buy a book, see a movie or anything that will bring money to this women, I did it with O.j., I told a radio station to boycott DateLine who was going to have O.J. on right after his trial was over and it took off and DateLine canceled it, I'm sure O.j. made money but not like he would have like, so I say boycott anything having to do with Casey, so that tv appearances and anything else she does not benefit from. So as much as we may want to see what she has to say, don't give in to temptation and allow this monster her chance at fame.
Does anyone not care a precious life was lost?! That baby girl who has decomposed and was not even buried properly, who lost her life so her mother could party and not be tied down with responsiblities. Those photographs of her are haunting to me. She reminds me of my daughter as they seem to have similar features. Its horrifying. If this "mother" did not want to be saddled down with her there were plenty of options to go by...
I also wonder if Caylee realized her mother didn't appreciate her or she felt threatened by her. I know children pick up on emotions but usually they still trust blindly....They do not understand someone they call mother could actually hurt them...
I hope little Caylee is in peace and a better place where ever she is.... God bless her and may her innocent soul rest in peace....
Rani - of course people care that a little one was killed...I know that's why I watched this trial. Unfortunately there will be no justice for Caylee - at least not in this lifetime.
CatcChick- I guess Im just upset with the verdict and some of the posters remarks here vouching for the monster's innocence. I guess only God, Caylee and the monster know what really happened. We wont get it out of the monster so will have to wait till judgement day for Caylee to get her justice. In Islam we believe everyone will be resurrected and held accountable for their sins. If a person has murdered someone, God will not forgive the culprit unless the victim him/herself forgives him. I wonder how Casey will be able to come face to face with that precious child and ask for forgiveness for taking her life before it even began...
Unfortunatley, we have become a society that demands CSI tv type "proof", and I don't believe it is a legal requirement to prove motive. I pity her family, and since Casey never went to school and has no "skills" to get a job, she will try to sell her "story"for big bucks, and never pay her parents back for all the money this has cost them. I find her despicable and without conscience or morals of any kind.
I completely agree CSI is a show Not Reality, this is a sad and unfortunate outcome. Sometimes it seems as if noone cares about the abductions and killings and rapes, or so called molestation (same as rape) of our children every hour and every day that some sick demented soul gets away with it. I try to not pass judgement on others but when it comes to a child you have to take a look into your soul and think what if this was my child, grandchild etc. and for goodness sakes do the right thing whatever that may be. There are so many people in this world that should not be allowed to have children yet sadly enough there is no way you can prevent them from doing so. I just thank the lord above if she is truly guilty she will have her true day in court, JUDGEMENT DAY and only GOD can be the true judge when someone is let off this easy. So we cannot be angry with the judge or jurors or prosecuter or anyone else, even though we want to be. God will handle this and every other situation that has not and will not be just. God bless our innocent children and all families that have ever been effected by any like circumstances.
Agree she probably won't benefit too much financially. She can't write a book - who'd buy it? News shows won't want to have her on for fear of offending their viewers. I think #2 - biteme - has hit the nail on the head re her future.
I think you are right Linda ... but I think it will only work while she's young. When she takes on a few years ... and consumes the drugs she will more progressively need to function ... it will all come tumbling down! And ... she will blame everybody ... other than herself ... for that crash!
Linda- I doubt she'd write an autobiography. That's what biographers are for. They write the story for you. And who will buy it? Americans in general will. Stuff like this trash sells all the time. If you believe it doesn't, then you might want to visit your local bookstore and check out the non-fiction section. There is a TON of dirty laundry on display for all to see and buy.
I agree with you, Cynic. Just look at how Americans lapped this story up. Children are murdered every single day... but this one got picked up by the media and sensationalized. The drama, the dysfunction, the outrage... the public LOVES it, no matter how much they condemn her.
Maybe not up her gluteus maximus, but in some other shape or form, like a disease or an accident, something that will affect her looks. That will be a real kicker for a narcissist like her. And if that does happen, I'm gonna buy me a bottle of Cristal to celebrate.
We've been "OJ'd".  I can't believe this jury's verdict. This woman is a psychopath who killed her little girl as sure as the day is long. Not even a guilty verdict on child endangerment or abuse when she didn't report her child missing for 30 days! I'm sick of seeing her face on the news!Â
She learned that by lying you can get away with murder. However we have our judicial system for a reason and still, innocent people are convicted and the guilty go free, it is what it is. If you believe in Karma Casey Anthony will have to pay someday. Many of us have spent 3 years following this emotionally charged case and in our hearts we know the truth and sadly enough there are no clear cut winners. Should have, would have and could have are irrelevant now. For all of you who knew Casey, you know the truth even if it hasn't been spelled out to you.
George Anthony was totally thrown under the bus and I feel for him almost as much as the poor dead girl.Baseless concocted unsubstantiated lies that I bet the jurors bought or at least entertained
He only has himself to blame, if ever. He chose to keep the truth hidden from the rest of the world. He can kill himself for all I care. he can all do us a favor, though, by bringing his loving daughter with him to hell.
He lacked the courage to face the truth, so how did Casey throw him under the bus? He denies a mistress, (I befriended her because she had a brain tumor?) Is it because she dared to share the incest that she had to live under as a little girl? They threw her under the bus long ago.
I aggree I will boycott any publisher that gives her a book deal. I am saddened because that baby was somebody. I thank the wrong charges was made to start with or not enough charges were given. I do believe the jury thought they were doing the right thing.
You may say no but, we are a Nation of voyeurs. Millions will buy because of the ghoulish nature of many. Just look at the hundreds of people that fought to get in to the Court.
How does a boycott help? It is an empty threat. The book-deal or movie-deal, when done, is done and she gets paid. Obviously she is going to be smart to get paid upfront and demand a small amount based on royalties.
If there is a major boycott, which I wonder will NEVER happen in this media dominated world, then the losers are the Movie Companies and the publishers. And they have already "insured" themselves against such failures with the Insurance Companies that we bailed out.
If they lose money - the stock holders are hit. Lets see who are the offering companies. Disney (directly or indirectly), FOX, GE, HBO and so on.
Did you guys know that GM & GE make billions in selling pornographic movies and DVDs. It was aired in DateLine or 20/20. It is a multi billion dollar industry and these mega companies are not going to keep their hands off it to make money - for their shareholders, which is you and me through our pension / 401(k) and zillion other mutual funds we fund them. And they are not going to let this slide as the marketing is already done and the people who hate her will make it even more viral for the curious onlooker to read this (worldwide) and it will become the NYT #1 BestSeller in no time
In effect, if it gets boycotted the losers are the same public who boycotted and they lost the dividends, revenue, stock appreciation.
Casey's new found fame will serve her just like OJ or Charlie Sheen. She will have a posse' of "hanger-ons" feeding her ego, listening to her lies, helping her spend all her newly found money, telling her how wonderful she is, and continue to make bad decisions. She will find new freinds to continue the enabling she has apparently had all her life (Cindy should be real proud...). I just hope some of the "collateral damage" (like Mr. Grund) come out of this OK.
OJ Simpson was vilified despite a not guilty verdict. His career was shattered and he was a pariah. After the initial rush to cash in on her story, Anthony will face the same fate. I don't think there will be any happy endings for Casey Anthony from this point forward.
JasonH-I agree, simply stated. I see a downward spiral. Drugs, booze and sooner or later a crime she can't wiggle out of. No amount of partying will cleanse her soul.
Jason- He might have been a vilified pariah....but he was still rakin' in the cash left and right from various book deals, likeness deals, and the rest. It's easy to get over the pariah status when you're rich and just don't care.
I believe most of OJ's money came from his football pensions, which were protected from having to be used to pay restitution from the civil suit. After the murder trial, no company would pay to have OJ associated with their product. His book deal came many years later and was a total flop.
And yes, OJ was a pariah in most people's eyes -- but there are always some people who are attracted to wealth and fame and thus OJ had no shortage of new friends and beautiful women who fawned all over him.
OJ Simpson lost the civil suit and the Goldman family followed him religiously. Their relentless attack was one of the reasons he ran out of the money (30 million in civil claims). And he was stupid to pull that stunt on robbery.
Whereas there are no such claims against this lady. Nor will there be one in the future. Her gains, in whatever form they are, are hers to keep. As long as she is smart she will be forgotten as time passes by.
She can retire with all the money she WILL make in a peaceful place away from the media. She probably will be a trivia question in Jeopardy
There's an error here: "When Caylee’s disappearance was first reported, Caylee told authorities that Grund was the one responsible for it, according to tapes released by Orlando police. " Caylee wasn't the one that told authorities Grund was responsible.
I don't wanna argue any more about the verdict. I'm all debated out.
Maybe we should just focus on forming a society that values loving parenthood instead of glamor and "freedom." Maybe we should be forming connections in our own families to provide support for those who will become parents either soon or eventually. Maybe we should go out of our way to show our own children how much we love and value them, so they can grow up with a positive picture of what parenthood means. Maybe, at last ditch, we should strengthen our cooperation with law enforcement to help prevent these cases.
There is no justice on earth for Caylee Anthony. She is dead, and that is unjust, and will remain unjust, no matter who you punish for it.
Maybe we should work now to secure justice for the millions of children who can still benefit from our efforts.
Well said Jeff! If we learn from past mistakes, we are less likely to repeat them. What we can do is love and give our own children the tools and insight to be the best that they can.
That said, there are some kids that just don't get it!
I agree Jeff. If we learn from past mistakes, we are less likely to repeat them. The most important things we teach our children, are to be honest, loving, and productive members of society. We do this by modelling that behavior for them. We can't change the past, or the ruling, but we can try to raise our children to be good adults.
That having been said, there are still some kids who just don't get it.
Casey Anthony will eventually receive the punishment she deserves. It may come on Earth and it may not but there will be justice for the murder of a little 2-year old child. Historically, people with hardened-hearts containing no feelings except for themselves will live a lonely existence and usually die afraid and alone.
Why "... she deserves"? Who has the moral authority to conclude that. This is the problem with moral elites.
Isn't it a fact that GOD has asked for human sacrifice in many a religion? Is GOD dying alone and afraid?
On a side note, anyone who is dying is dying alone - they don't get into a bus and travel together. Even with all your friends and family sitting around you - you die ALONE!
Oddly enough, life has a way of working out. Casey Anthony, her lying lawyer, and her lying parents will all, eventually, get precisely what they deserve.
I don't like or respect lawyers but Casey's lawyers did their job well. They were supposed to make the jury see that there was reasonable doubt. A travesty of justice occured; but it can't be laid at the jury's or defense lawyers feet.
Casey Anthony, her lying lawyer, and her lying parents will all, eventually, get precisely what they deserve.
Isn't that a nice, comforting thought? That there ultimately is justice in the world? Unfortunately, it just isn't true. Her lawyer will be filthy rich, and Casey will have five years, tops, in prison. But, I suppose you mean they'll all rot in hell. Unless of course, they repent their sins, but you know God forgives all that, right? Even baby murderers. What a great religion.
Casey - freedom and wealth (thanks to a bungling and over zealous DA)
Her lawyers - millions
Hey lying parents - saved their daughter
And the tax payer funded all this (for the fame) and as viewers we contributed to this (watching all the TV channels which are funded by the advertisements and the products which we buy with our hard earned dollars)
After contributing to all these with your own money (buying products, paying Cable guy, paying taxes) now what is the point of 'wishing'
As a one time juror, I have to say that even though it can be a bitter pill to swallow, if you can completely put all prejudices aside and judge a case entirely by the merit of the evidence presented at trial, then the case was decided correctly. The burden of proof is on the prosecution, and that burden was not met. Capital cases are and should be very difficult to convict on without strong, concrete evidence. If this were not so, then the already too high (in my view) incidence of innocent people being put in prison for life or a long number of years which in fact ruins their life even if they are later released, would in fact increase dramatically. Yes, many do get away with murder, but also many are wrongly convicted of murder. You can have a 100% fool proof system, especially when the people judging these cases are every day joes with no qualifications what so ever other than a few pre-trial questions which may not even be answered truthfully. We do need a better system, but I don't see it happening. Think about it, this was a unanimous decision right ? Just as in the O.J. case. Were all 24 people idiots ? No. It's a hard job, all you can do is your best with what you have to work with.
I will no doubt make a few enemies here, but regardless of our "feelings on certain matters" it is God's place to be the ultimate Judge, and believe me, He will. We respect the authorities to do the right thing, this case has been dragged thru the mud and back, and a ruling was made. How about we let it rest in peace, along with the others who were or weren't involved?
Before I knew God, my decisions and actions would have been different. Even tho I make alot of mistakes (sin...lol). I have learnedthat I cannot judge based on my feelings or thoughts on this, regardless of what they may be.
People are real quick to cheer when someone gets convicted, but when they don't, they think they should have been in the Judge's place. Quite frankly, I wouldn't want that job. Just look at all the cases that have been overturned throughout the years. Wonder how they would feel if the put an innocent person to their death with the chair, or the needle, and then found out later they were wrong? Who are we to judge another person's life when we can't even get our own right??
Margaret: Absolutely right! It is not (thankfully!) my place to judge. I'm not sure whether the verdict was the correct one, but I am sure that it is all in God's plan, and He's got the situation covered. Whether this ordeal over the last three years was His effort to ransom Casey's soul and bring her to Him, or just trials and tribulations for her to go through...I don't know. That must remain between her and God...I've got enough to do to concentrate on living my life the way I should!
Yes, Darryl, they were. It's easier to find 12 idiots nowadays than 12 educated and reasonable people.
The judge kept the identities of the jurors in the Anthony case secret, but the members of O.J.'s jury were known. They were uneducated; if memory serves correct only 1 had even attended college. Who else can give up months of their lives?
The members of the jury from Florida had to be willing to give up 8 weeks of their time. Who can afford to do that? Not smart, educated people with important jobs. Now before anyone gets mad, I know that a retired person could do it (if they have no other responsibilities to anyone), or an unemployed person -- there are a lot of folks in that situation now. But wouldn't you rather be looking for work?
Even if you don't need to work, how many of us can give up 8 weeks of our lives? Someone without any responsibilities. It's quite possible that some highly educated, retired scientist or professor was on that jury -- but I doubt it. Let's face it; smart people with important jobs and responsibilities to others cannot just give up weeks & weeks of their time.
Remember this also; the jurors aren't just selected at random, they are screened by the prosecution and the defense lawyers. It was probably hard to find someone who had not heard of the case -- think about who that would be.
I would be willing to give up 8 weeks of my life to perform my civic duty if called to do so. I am educated and work as a Systems Architect. My employer would also have to support jury duty and allow me to return to my position once completed. Insulting those you don't know can be pretty petty.
I'm not sure whether the verdict was the correct one, but I am sure that it is all in God's plan, and He's got the situation covered.
Was it also God's plan for Caylee to be murdered? What kind of God would do that?
Casey is the one responsible for her daughter's death, the legal system is responsible for the verdict and there is no control of the situation by anyone.
Well If you ask me they should of all told the truth. Casey wasnt the last one seen with Caylee, Her folks were babysitting and she was out of town! I think everyone missed that at the beginning of all this!! I think that in gods eye you shouldnt judge her cause none of us have that right to!!!...But the Prosecution should have went back through there notes and they would have seen the truth between the lines!
No, Casey was the last person seen with Caylee. You are confusing when she was last seen with when Casey SAID she was last seen. Caylee was seen a week after Casey said she disappeared, in the company of Cindy visiting her great-grandfather at a nursing home. The day AFTER that, George saw Casey & Caylee leave the house together. THAT was the last time Caylee was seen alive.
There is a bright side though: If the defense attorney has a daughter, the proceeds he just made from this case can go towards a camcorder which will be used to film her first home-porn and start a fruitful career just like Kim K. did.
LOL - last paragraph.
@Linda
What is a FUNCTIONAL family? I know of no such animal!
Did that comment above yours sound like it came from someone who is sane and rational?
Did the laugh about comment #1.1 last paragraph come from, a cohesive, constructive, pillar of society person?
What did the defense attorney's daughter have to do with the Defense of the case?
Who on this site criticising the Anthony family has NO Skeletons in their Family Tree?
All of Humanity is Dysfunctional because there are no people, who are perfect!
The Jury understood "reasonable doubt", fortunately for Casey, those people were reasonable!
A lot of people who comment on the Vine are not.
Men, choose your marriage partner accordingly.
What value does any book have? We already know she's a liar, so why would anyone waste their time with such a thing?
It's amazing how the vermin come crawling out AFTER all is said and done. Anyway done.
I don't think Casey's father had anything to do with it.
Casey will do the porn for the money and then say it wasn't her. Oh wait, she would lie about that, would she?
Hell, I'd date her in a second. The girl is very attractive.
AWESOME!! I'm with you on this differnet!
Its a sad day in American justice.
chillyindy ...
Paul, no one ever accepts help or makes the changes needed to live a decent live unless they so choose.
Anthony has no interest in 'help'. She is as biteme stated : vacuous.
I believe Mr. Grund is possibly the best judge of her.
Apparently she has never worked a day in her life, she lied about being employed!!
I hope you don't want kids...
All the help and guidance in the world can't give her a conscience.
chillyindy, well it looks like you and casey are two in a pod, maybe you two can meet, get married and have kids that one day she will throw in a swamp.
My words to you are that there are many many pretty women in the world and because of what she did and who she is that makes her ugly and you do not have a moral fiber in your body.
well said lu!
Welfare will do nicely. She will be welcomed at many places. Publicity is always welcome.
publicity is always welcome. sad, but true.
bstatti, I agree 100 percent, I don't believe the jury had time to review the evidence, it was too quick, one of the jurrors had a cuise to go on july 7 tomorrow, they were tired and in their fatigue were not thinking clearly. They came into the court room Tuesday morning all dressed up, which they had not done previously so they knew after only 5 hours that they were going to find her not guilty. The men would not have been wearing suits unless they thought they were not going to be there for long.
I just love how everyone knows what she is thinking, or going to be doing in the future. Must be nice to hold the magic crystal ball of judgement !
Biteme said:
Same as Jon-Benet Ramsey...
Indeed....a constant reminder of how children are left without justice and truth. Thanks Double...
It's justice - Florida style.
Remember this is the state with a history about hanging chads.

LITTLE CAYLEE ANTHONY--SUCH A BEAUTIFUL GIRL
MAY NO LONGER BE WITH US IN THIS WORLD
FOR WHATEVER REASON--SHE MAY NO LONGER BE HERE
NOW THERE IS HEARTACHE AND SO MANY TEARS
WHY DID THIS HAPPEN--WE NEED TO KNOW
WHERE DID THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE GIRL GO
CASEY ANTHONY MUST BE INSANE
SHE IS A MOTHER ONLY IN NAME
GOD PLEASE HELP US TO FIND CAYLEE
HELP US TO FIND HER--WHEREVER SHE MAY BE
BUT IF SHE IS AN ANGEL
ALL HAPPY AND FREE
WE WILL STILL LOVE AND REMEMBER
CAYLEE MARIE
AIRIANNA
Very sad.....
Caylee is not mourned by her mother, but, thankfully, many others do mourn her passing.
agreed AVI
Sarah Palin is different than Casey Anthony.
Castingstones,
I have worked with many children of sexual abuse and NONE of them exhibited the type of sociopathic behavior that Casey had.
Ken: You bring up an interesting point: Just how did all those pets (that she and her family buried) die? Seems like there were a lot of them...
Everyone has to start somewhere. Maybe Casey is only dangerous to her own children; many mothers that kill their children don't hurt anyone else.

@Ken,
"I didn't know the gun was loaded!" bat eyelashes, comb hair with fingers, hair flip, look down coyly, look up, Smile.
Agree all the way. Google Raynella Dossett Leath - Knoxville, TN. She's now killed TWO husbands and is still running free, never convicted. Sick.
American justice may be the best in the world, yet it's still very flawed.
so you all would have convicted someone in the absence of real evidence?
Jeff Ashton is retiring at the end of this week. Could he have been asked to step down?
Fayse,
He had already said he was retiring, and according to an interview today with him, stayed only to take this case.
One of the best comments I've seen since the verdict.
Was Grund not called to testify for the prosecution? I believe every word he says about that family. Sicko's
Casey is another Diane Downs
she'd better consider using all that money for security. she will need it.
Sad but true Cat, agreed.
Reminds me of my first wife. The sins of the father run deep!
All I have to say to Casey is...karma is a bitch!
And hopefully it will come around and bite Casey right in her lying ASS!!
Maybe not up her gluteus maximus, but in some other shape or form, like a disease or an accident, something that will affect her looks. That will be a real kicker for a narcissist like her. And if that does happen, I'm gonna buy me a bottle of Cristal to celebrate.
How does this help justice for Caylee? Celebrating that an accident happens to them because of a verdict of not guilty is callous.
I will boycott any publisher that gives her a book deal.
I aggree I will boycott any publisher that gives her a book deal. I am saddened because that baby was somebody. I thank the wrong charges was made to start with or not enough charges were given. I do believe the jury thought they were doing the right thing.
Or any producer of a TV reality show with her in it.
junganimus, I second that motion, and boycott any tv programs or interviews she is in.
Now that is a thought, Charlie Sheen would probably hire her since his other two "Goddesses" have quit.
OJ lived the good life for a while but eventually he emploded.
She probably will be a trivia question in Jeopardy
she'll get a book deal and a reality show. Maybe Dancing with the Stars!
As long as we the public ALLOW this to happen...Yep, you are absolutely correct!
Pole Dancing with the Stars!
Hell ... according to Baez ... she has a boat load of "imaginary friends" to dance and party with ... hey ... the Skank will be fine!
lol but she wont be fine. her hell will begin on earth.
DWTS is on the outs, and having Casey on it would put a nail in it for sure...
All these armchair psychics .... ugggggg.
There's an error here: "When Caylee’s disappearance was first reported, Caylee told authorities that Grund was the one responsible for it, according to tapes released by Orlando police. " Caylee wasn't the one that told authorities Grund was responsible.
Caylee couldnt tell anyone anything, only CASEY or her parents could.
Caylee is the one who is DEAD!
And, NOT buy into any of her movie or book deals...NO supporting this sickness!
Well said Jeff! If we learn from past mistakes, we are less likely to repeat them. What we can do is love and give our own children the tools and insight to be the best that they can.
That said, there are some kids that just don't get it!
You might want to watch how loudly you voice this opinion, Jeff. Feminists might come get you for suppressing their right to act free and stupid.
Historically, people with hardened-hearts containing no feelings except for themselves will live a lonely existence and usually die afraid and alone.
....except for those that work in the government.....or have power of any kind.
Why "... she deserves"?
Agreed!!!!!!
Yes - they got what they deserved
"Were all 24 people idiots ?"
Wow Eugene, mighty high of you there.
I would be willing to give up 8 weeks of my life to perform my civic duty if called to do so. I am educated and work as a Systems Architect. My employer would also have to support jury duty and allow me to return to my position once completed. Insulting those you don't know can be pretty petty.
I think that in gods eye you shouldnt judge her cause none of us have that right to!!!...But the Prosecution should have went back through there notes and they would have seen the truth between the lines!
what? keep looking (try glasses and hearing aid)....
