Sorry Mr. Mason but I believe that your unwavering faith in Ms. Anthony will be proven wrong. This is a sociopath..These folks can lie like nobody's business. You are a trusting soul and she can smell that a mile away.
Sorry Mr. Mason but I believe that your unwavering faith in Ms. Anthony will be proven wrong.
It won't be proven wrong. The case is over justice has been served and as far as the legal system is concered it's over. No continuing investigations on Casey anyway.
He is a media hound......you put truth serum in him, and his opinion would be no different than any other half way intelligent person, he is as putried as Casey herself!
Then what exactly does Mr. Mason think happened to Caylee? I am still in shock that you can lose track of your toddler and never report the child missing and it's not a crime. How can that be?
Even if Crazy Anthony is really innocent of doing something with Caylee, it is pretty obvious that she didn't give a rats azz about that child. Never report the child missing, come on jury...To late now I guess.
I don't think she did it. It looks to me that she is just a dumb high school drop out, on drugs, that was abused by her parents. Either one of the latter two facts are sufficient to explain her strange behavior after her daughter went missing.
This from the same person who gives the finger to the media, while celebrating the release of a child killer. I suppose he believes in the tooth fairy too. Mr. Baez is a scumbag as are you sir. Nice article yesterday in the NY Times exposing the REAL Jose Baez, who is a deadbeat Dad who doesn't pay child support without threat of jail, and has been removed from practicing law on occasion. Baez is true dirtbag, whom character and dignity he has never been associated with, same with this old scumbag liar Mr. Mason.
I hope Lee Anthony and George Anthony sue both of these pathetic lawyers for defamation, yeah molesters, and pigs fly Mr. Mason.
"never underestimate the stupidity of the American people"
I agree with the Attorney. I do not believe she killed her daughter. So shoot me! It's my right to believe in what I want, the right for the jurors to believe in what they had to work with, and why are people so adamant in trying to force people to believe in your witch hunt ways.
We weren't there, so we really do not know what happened to poor Kaylee, however, the case is over, she was found "not guilty" so now it's time to move forward.
were you an alternate on the jury? You sound like you belong on there.
your quote " don't think she did it. It looks to me that she is just a dumb high school drop out, on drugs, that was abused by her parents. Either one of the latter two facts are sufficient to explain her strange behavior after her daughter went missing.
Where was one shread of evidence of abuse, other than "words" from Jose Baez's mouth? Not one notion of abuse was EVER brought up, hence the judge saying they could not even bring up "abuse" during there closing argument. You sure are culible. Sell stupid somewhere else, were already full up on here.
Let the "civil" proceedings begin. Their "burden of proof" is less & justice might finally be done. Think O.J.?
You do know that the legal system does not bring forth a civil suit. I am not suer who could do that in this case. Maybe Caylee's father? But what would he get?
He's not trusting, he's just a lawyer doing lawyer stuff. He can never say he knows she's guilty and that he lied about it in court.
Remember, he and Jose sacrificed many lives (Casey only killed one by herself) in order to win the game. And they, sociopaths all, will live with it without 'shame.
Let's move beyond this and take back our power and lives. Don't give in to rage against these people. Don't let your life be full of the anger. Go out and be whole and energized and full of love. Don't let the bottom-feeders win.
And let stop watching any programs about any of these creeps, including TV and print. This is a toxic story with no winners.
As self-centered as Casey Anthony is, does anybody really believe she would stay in prison for 3 years, falling on the sword for George's misdeeds? She killed her daughter because she didn't want to be bothered by little "snot head" while she was laying up in bed with Tony. If Cheney Mason really believes Casey didn't kill Calyee, he needs to be tested for incompetency.
Technically Mason may be 100% correct in everything he said in the interview.
The story casey told mason the first time he met her is probably a completely different story than she has ever told law enforcement or anyone else, and she has probably never changed THAT story. THAT story is probably the truth but we have never heard THAT story only the defense team has heard THAT story.
Remember Bill clinton`s deposition in the paula jones case? Define the word "sex", define the word "is" etc
If I shoot someone with a gun I can honestly say I didn't "kill" that person. The gun killed that person or more precisely the bullet that I fired from the gun "killed" that person.saying that I didn`t kill that and I am not responsible for that persons death, are two different things.
The Important thing to keep in mind when listening to a politician or a lawyer talk is to read what they don't say rather than what they do say for therein you will find the truth.
Trishlee- Just because Nancy Grace and Jane Mitchell talked for hours on her guilt doesn't make her guilty. They talk with a accusatory tone that only speaks of guilt. The prosecution did not do their job. That is the fact that people do not want to accept.
I think she was present when Caylee died. I do not think she killed her but by covering the death was wrong.
Everyone thinks they know what happened and only 1 person on this earth knows what happened. And a jury found her not guilty. That is the fact. Everything else is just speculation. And you can not send someone to jail because you think she did it. And quit watching those 2 sourpuss people who believe everyone is guilty before they stand trial.
For all you gullible people who must all be related to Mason and the Jury, Where was the little girl for 31 days? Mom could not care where she was, lying to everyone and looks like her Lies worked on Mason and a lot of you. What is wrong with your people, She did it and got away with it in court. I hope everyone stays after her for a long time reminding her, she may have been found not guilty by 12 Idiots in Florida, but the rest of us know better. She will face her reality one day soon
We will never how this little girl died. The Media from day one ran away with this case with speculation and drama. It took 3 years of the general public and the Media to already Convict Casey before her day in court. People - we will never know all the FACTS of what happened. The WHOLE FAMILY has LIED!!! The Prosecution could NOT prove Beyond a Reasonable Doubt what happened - therefore the Jury did their job. Wow - how we all seem to forget how the process works.
Which story did you believe Cheney??? First, she wasn't even missing - those 31 days Casey says she was 'at the beach' or 'at a theme park'. Then after the grandma calls police Casey says Caylee was kidnapped by "zanny the nanny". Then she's on trial for murder she says 'Caylee drowned in the pool'.
The more that man speaks - the more I want to give HIM the finger!!
Donna--Where was the child for 31 days and would have been longer if Cindi did not confront Casey-- What part of that are you not getting-- or did you forget that part? Are you one of the Jurors ?
MIKE-3679485 Guess no one has told you yet that lynch mobs are illegel. I can tell that you are the kind of person that hangs first and never asks questions. How dare you attack the innocent jurors whom were doing their civic duty only and came back with the only decision the evidence could have allowed. I'd like to know how is it you "know better"? Where you there? Are you an eye witness? Since you know better for a fact, why weren't you at the trial testifying to what you know better? When calling someone an idiot, maybe you should look in the mirror and talk to yourself.
I looking in the Mirror right now and saying where was that baby for 31 days, mother lying to everyone, baby found dead, mother could care less. Not sure there is much else left to say-- You must live in Florida?
A while back, I believed in the tooth fairy and Santa, but then, I began to pride myself on thinking for myself, resorting to reasoning and logic. I missed not a day, not a moment of this trial.
If Casey Anthony is not guilty, and this attorney with the level of reasoning of an amoeba truly believes this sociopath, then it is time to believe in fairies and swamp monsters that snatch and kill little girls.
And, in the future, we must address the issue of "quality" jurors. First thing, IQ tests must be given to all jurors, and they should submit to sanity hearings. And, tested on the meanings and relevancy of reasoning, reasonable doubt, circumstantial evidence and the meaning of deliberation. Fortunately, hope exists because 80 percent of all Americans got it.
An exceedingly unconscious jury just released a child murderer onto the general public. Even the Anthony's very own attorney, let it be known, even Casey's parents believed she was guilty. A great American travesty. Yup, America is dumbing down, way down. If Casey is innocent, I'll go back to believing in things that go bump in the night, and child stealing swamp monsters.
...two-thirds of America believes that Casey Anthony was guilty...
Two-thirds of Americans are dumb@$$ sheep who desperately need to take a course on American history, government and the courts! INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty.
(BTW - They used to teach basic law to eighth graders around a hundred years ago... The government is definitely getting what they are paying for when it comes to the "education" (dumbing-down) of the commoner of the USA. This IS why we keep getting the same losers elected from BOTH parties! Two-freakin'-thirds?!?!)
When the media started heavily "pushing" this on us back in February, I was telling everyone I was around she would be found "not guilty". Everything THE MEDIA SAID was complete hearsay. So I was not surprised when the jury gave their verdict. (BTW - GOOD JOB JURORS!!!)
Mike#s - You just aren't getting it, are you? The prosecutor brought MURDER charges against CA. They could not prove MURDER. So what happened during those "31 days" IS irrelevant. Frankly, it's not Mason who is being a media whore. It WAS the prosecutor. It sounds like he was trying to be the 'big shot'. He brought charges that he could not prove beyond a REASONABLE doubt. So just like in the OJ case, BIG FAIL! Now had he brought lesser charges, things MIGHT have turned out differently.
Dano#s - I am still in shock that you can lose track of your toddler and never report the child missing and it's not a crime. How can that be?
Because, thankfully, we don't live in a total police state where the state is both mother and father...
mike-3679485 - Don't know where the child was for 31 days - we will never know. The Facts of this case are out of control depending on which Media Outlet is reporting info. Thats the problem - THE MEDIA. I'm guessing you believe everything you hear and everything you read! I still for one do not Trust George and Cindy Anthony. The whole family is a mess! They all have LIED!!! Now the other problems we have is people Like you have convicted someone of a Murder when Murder has Not be Proven - beyond a reasonable doubt. I sure hope you are never on a jury - that person does not stand a chance. And your question about whether I am a Juror - I guess that is for you to figure out. My suggestion to you is to stop listening to information on TV and stop reading the crap in the magazines. Everyone botched this from the beginning and the Media had a BIG field day with this story. The person I feel sorry for is Caylee.
IIRC straight homicide almost equates to premeditation in nature.
exactly. and if the prosecutor had been smarter, he would have realized that jurors can not convict someone of murder if they don't know how the murder occurred.
however, a child missing for 31 days before the GRANDMOTHER reported the child missing AND finding the body is good evidence for negligent homicide.
"Because, thankfully, we don't live in a total police state where the state is both mother and father..."
spiddas- your a psycho if you dont think it should be illegal to not report a missing child to the authorities, or not report the death of a child to the authorities,....seriously...i mean that in the nicest way possible.
I believe she did not kill her child. No one knows how the child died, but her.
What does that tell you? Maybe you should have been on the Jury. If no one knows how she died except Casey, and she did NOTHING except party for over 30 days, and even then never told the investigators where the body was. What does that tell you? How about Aggravated Child Abuse? How about Manslaughter?
I guess Lee Harvey Oswald was innocent of killing JFK also as no one saw him pull the trigger, and he had no motive.
ok so yer gay - Okay. Then maybe we should have "the state" get back into your bedroom to say what is "normal" and what is not... Or tell an woman how to deal with their body... Stop and think about it. Ya can't have it both ways.... Besides, not reporting a death in most places is already a crime. Adult or child. And if a parent has a REASONABLE belief that their child is missing and fails to notify the authorities, THAT is a crime, too. Now go and hit the books. Maybe you'll learn something... ~_o
Donna--did you not here the 911 calls about Cindy calling them to report her Garndaughter Missing--Does that sound like someone who was lying and knew what was happening. I watched the prosecutor put out the time line with all Casey Lies and all that was enough for me. I certainly do not believe that child drowned, The parents were just thrown right into the middle of this by Casey and now their lives will be a mess for a long long time. Casey and her lawyers fabricated many lies and some of you bought the story hook line and sinker. Holy Moly, how gullible are some of you
mike-3679485 I did not say that I bought Casey's lawyers lies. Re-read my posts. I am not as gullible as you. See you have already convicted the girl for murder and You DO NOT KNOW HOW CAYLEE WAS supposedly MURDERED. You my friend are not looking at how the Prosecution presented this case - and there were to many people that LIED on the stand in court. I am not saying that Casey or someone else in the family killed this little girl - but we may never know now because of the Media and the fact that this took 3 years to get to. Oh and Cindy Anthony may be a great actor - she certainly lied on the witness stand several times.
In most states, just leaving your child in the car for 10 minutes while you run into the store will have the Police waiting for you when you come out. This will get you arrested and have child services all over the parents.
I would think 31 days missing should be a serious crime. This would have many of us losing our children and be in jail for quite awhile and all kinds of restrictions put in place for us, way more than casey will have for tossing her child into the Swamps( I mean allegedly tossed her child into the swamp)
Mike-3679485 OMG!!!! Your first comment about leaving your child in the car for 10 minutes while you run into the store will have the Police waiting for you when you come out. Dugh? Now you have a WITNESS to what has just happened! Where is an accountable eye witness that has NOT LIED during this case?? So sad that this case has to many holes to the case with to many people that have Lied and now the truth will be hard to uncover. Assumption on your part gets nowhere! And that is another sad part of this case with even the Media. To many people with assumptions. I'm guessing you have been watching and listening to much to Nancy Grace.
You DO NOT KNOW HOW CAYLEE WAS supposedly MURDERED.
Does it matter? you have the last known person seen with her do nothing for a month, then lie some more so the child is found 6 months later with duct tape on her face, in a plastic bag, with things from the Anthony home. And you want to know how she died? She drowned, according to her lawyer. OK, that makes Casey guilty of aggravated child abuse for not reporting it and then for not telling the truth of where the body was.
All murders arent as neat and clean as the Jarod Laughner case where the shooter was on tape and seen by 30 witnesses with the gun registered to him in his hand. Sometimes you have to use your brain!!!!!
Donna-- I actually watching Dr Drew-- he not as loud and ready to blow a gasket as Nancy . regardless the #@itch killed her child-- you have to be on another planet or from another world to have the common sense to see thru all the smoke screens and other arguments-- Any one can say anything they want and now it will be Maybe it happened--all top easy to try and steer someone in another direction-- It appears you are in that other direction--Use your gut and common sense to know the truth is a Killer will be set free this weekend
I think all the anger being vented at the jurors/courts etc, should be redirected at the prosecution. They spent way too much time going over irrelevant BS when they should of been focused on the Caylee's death, how she got to that swamp if she drowned in the family pool, and the 30+ days it took Casey to report her.
The prosecution didn't even propose a hypothetical situation to demonstrate how, when and why Caylee was died. The jury came to the only conclusion they could within the context of the courts, because the prosecution failed to prove the case, plain and simple.
If Casey didn't kill her daughter, she would have confessed earlier, instead of confessing that it was an accident she chose lock down for 23 hours a day for 3 years...hmmmmm doesn't that strike you as odd?
BarbaraB- then you prove that she is a child killer. Show the world your evidence of her guilt. You will be famous. If you have no PROOF then you are no better than Nancy Grace or that PROVEN boozer Jane Mitchell.
When Mason was first asked to join the defense team he declined and gave an interview in which he stated that he would be hard pressed to be on her team because there had been a dead body in her car. Can't remember which station played that interview the other night. Interesting!?!? Evidently she got them all to buy her sack of bull. True Sociopath! Look up sociopath and you will have a true picture of Casey Anthony.
@nick46: Zenaida Gonzales (the woman whose name CA got off of an apartment application and whose name CA used as the mysterious babysitter who supposedly had Caylee) is suing CA for slander, libel and defamation of character. Because of CA's lies, Police did question Ms. Gonzales which cast suspicion on her and she was fired from her job and had to move because she was being harrassed by neighbors.
Kristen, ever hear of basic, "reasoning" and logic. Try on common sense. By the way, what is your hat size? Fortunately for this nation, you represent only 20 percent of all Americans. Did you watch this trial, not missing one moment, like I?
What is amazing, stunning, is, that anyone, anyone with the level of consciousness of a 5 year old, could possibly believe this sociopath did not murder her little child. And, why are you attacking talking heads and the media? Did they murder their babies? Did they, duh murder their babies and failed to seek help or report them missing for 5 weeks, duh? And, what is your hat size, again?
skor154-You can bash me all you want. But you lose credit when you can not even spell my name correctly. That aside, I do think she had something to do with Caylees death, whether she murdered or covered up an accident. It is a shame. But when I watch the news or read it, I am objective and REALISTIC about it. Nancy Grace has always had a accusatory tone to her. Everyone is guilty without all the facts. Whether we like it or not she was found not guilty of murder.
There is only one person that knows what happened. And for everyone to say they know she killed her is a bit overboard. Oh, and by the way, I have spent 3/4 of my life serving this country in the military and I bet I have more schooling and intelligence than you will ever have. And people like you and Trish like the law when it goes your way. Be realistic and actually listen to what is being said and have the knowledge to understand what you read. And my name moron is spelled Kristian. Fool.
I agree with you that Casey is a sociopath. I found it interesting that they interviewed the psychiatrist that the defense had examine her to determine whether she could be defended on reason of insanity. He did extensive interviews with her and psychological testing. He said, she was definitely sane, and showed a number of characteristics of a sociopathic personality, but didn't meet all criteria to give her that diagnosis. For those who see her as an "inappropriate grieving mother" should know that a sociopath is totally amoral with no concern for anyone or anything other than their own satisfaction.
She a pathologic liar, stole checks from a friend and was charged with check fraud, stole from her grandmother, took her mother's credit card and ran up thousands of dollars of charges. According to a cellmate, she told her she had used chloroform in the past to get Casey to sleep so she could go out.
She researched, and typed in specifically the words, chloroform, household accidents, broken neck, on her computer. The deputy that "babysat" her for 9 days, said that when she was looking at pictures of Caylee, Casey took them away, and said, "here look at mine." When they were told that bones had been found in a park, Casey showed no concern, but when they told them later they had found bones in the swamp Casey started hyperventilating and was really upset. When they were still looking for Caylee's body, the deputy asked her why she could laugh and joke around with everyone searching for her child, and Casey said, "I don't to let the 'negative energy' get me down.
The deputy said they were watching a program about alcoholism and excessive drinking. The deputy asked her if she was familiar with, the "date rape drug, and she said, "yeh, ruffies," she asked her about another drug, and she knew the street name. Asked her if she had heard of ether, and Casey answered "chloroform.
When her parents visited her in jail she became upset with them saying, "you're more worried about finding Caylee, than you are of me in jail.l
I could go on and on, and provide a wealth of evidence in this case, but I get so angry, I have to stop.
I followed the trial, you can read transcripts, evidence submitted, witness testimony on line. I don't need Nancy Grace to know this woman is as guilty as sin.
Sandra- Maybe you all can not understand that I wrote that I believe she had something to do with that poor babies murder. I do not know how I can make that any clearer. But the prosecution did not do their job, at all. You can not assume someone did the crime and convict them. There can be no reasonable doubt. The jury (who was set up for the prosecutions case) even said they THINK she did it but the prosecution DID NOT DO THEIR JOB in proving Casey did it.
I do not think shows like Nancy Grace or Jane Mitchell do our society any good except telling us a child is missing. Their speculation and accusatory tone only makes people who watch that show believe in guilt before innocent. Remember Nancy Grace was sued by the estate of a woman whose child was missing. The lady killed herself and of course there was a "settlement". Every case in the media that there is a settlement there is guilt. Michael Jackson settled did he? Was he innocent for settling?
SP-3268112-The title of this article is 'Casey Anthony Attorney: She Did Not Kill her Child'...We know she's dead..I'm pretty sure she didn't kill herself, and if she did, I'm pretty sure she didn't bury herself. My question is relevant to THIS article. That's what we're all responding to, isn't it?
I know who dunnit. The swamp monster slithered outta his swamp and dunnit or some prehistoric bird is just dropping murdered children onto the Earth, especially in Florida. Gosh, I didn't know the one armed paper hanger was still hanging out down dar.
Ya'll really tank dat dar paper hanger did it? I betcha, dudes, dem dar defense ternies forgut to tell dem jury the one armed paper hanger did it and not the meter reader and grandpa. Causin gramps was too busy molesting all dem dar.
Exactly what do you mean by "takes out this scumbag," Jake. Are you trying to be like Palin and Rick Perry who call people to take up their guns out to the streets and then deny having anything to do with the shooting?
figure what out?...at best you didnt believe casey didnt do it, probably because she is a pretty white girl,...so you really didnt figure anything out,...you were pretty much snowballed....if casey was a black girl she would be on death row faster than you could say "duct tape"....you know its true.
When a man molests his own daughter, it is the worst betrayal possible. Too often the mother does not protect her daughter. To protect her daughter would mean to get a divorce and send her husband to prison. The family will be destroyed. So the answer: blame the victim. Scapegoat the victim so that she believes everything is her fault, collude with lies against her so that she will seem a liar to others, deny love and protection because somehow she is inherently 'bad' and if she does actually make a mistake, make sure to blow it out of proportion and parade it around for the world to see as evidence the victim is 'bad' and the family's treatment of her is okay.
Often the victim who is struggling terribly does not behave well. It becomes even easier for the family then to scapegoat her. Look at her erratic behavior. She is the problem. Our family is just fine. She is just making up stories. She is a liar. She is to blame. She is the problem we have had to deal with all of her life.
But the reality is she is acting out because she is in terrible pain inside and she cannot deal with it any longer. She is being blamed, because the family does not want to deal with the incest. She is terrified to make a mistake because it will be paraded by the family as evidence she is 'bad'.
Caylee's law is good, but Caylee was not missing. She had drowned tragically. Casey was told by her father as was normal in the house, that she would be held responsible for the accident. She would go to prison. So Casey tried to cover the accident and make it look like a kidnapping or murder.
If you seek to truly understand how Casey could party the day after her daughter died, it is the exact same way she went on to school after having been forced to give oral sex to her father. She dissociated. Sometimes children that are being sexually abused, 'forget' the abuse as it is happening. It is happening somewhere else to someone else. They retreat into a place in their mind they can survive in. They compartmentalize memories hiding the terrible memories from even themselves. They learn to distrust their own feelings and are forced to live a life as if nothing is happening at all even though something terrible is. The family attacks them, scapegoating them so that the incest will remain hidden. The child must deal with the horrendous reality of abuse and the emotional destruction piled upon them by their family.
Abusers hardly ever admit to what they have done or doing. What evidence did people think could be given for the sexual abuse? The only evidence would have been George admitting what he had done. He did not, which is unfortunately the normal for men like him. However, the jury saw the truth. They saw the truth in his face, they saw the pain in Casey's. Sometimes the truth cannot be shut down. It came through to the jury. They knew.
From the very start, I picked up on the dysfunctional patterns of behavior in the family. I knew Caylee had died accidentally somehow and Casey was terrified to admit error. I watched Cindy and her behavior. I watched George and his behavior. I read of Casey's behavior. I knew George had abused his daughter and likely had started or would have soon started on little Caylee. When he had taken Caylee's innocence and trust, when he had damaged her beyond repair, when she acted out as a teenager- would you then crucify her as you are her mom?
Look for understanding people. You are acting like a lynch mob. The jurors ruled as they had to. They went through hell. They allowed facts to outweigh lynch mob mentality.
In reality Casey's pattern of behavior was evidence she had been sexually abused. In reality the patterns of dysfunction in the family were indicators of incest. And the understanding of this is out there. Read the studies and literature. Find understanding.

"In reality Casey's pattern of behavior was evidence she had been sexually abused."
no, her behavior is not evident she was abused,...and further sexual abuse does not justify murder,...thousands of children are sexually abused and do not go on to comitt murder...there is no evidence that abuse victims suffer irrepraprable damage....in fact most do rather well considering....im not saying sexual abuse isnt wrong or harmful,..its just not as damaging as you would like us to believe...and abuse victims are not so neurotic as to be unable to make distinctions like "right and wrong,"...there was no evidence of sexual abuse in this case, the many recorded phone conversations between casey and her father showed no sign of hostilities or an abusive relationship,...she, in fact stated more than once in those conversations how much she thought her father was a decent father....more lies.
But the reality is she is acting out because she is in terrible pain inside and she cannot deal with it any longer. She is being blamed, because the family does not want to deal with the incest. She is terrified to make a mistake because it will be paraded by the family as evidence she is 'bad'.
There is absolutely NO evidence that she was a victim of incest except what the attorney said on his opening which apparently he heard from a pathological liar. No witnesses, no nothing.
I have treated a number of adults and children who were victims of both incest, and sexual child abuse, and even several who claimed to be victims of satanic ritual abuse with a diagnosis of multiple personality disorder and I have yet to meet ONE, that is capable for doing or acting as Casey Anthony does. Not one.
The prosecution team did an excellent job compared to the defense. Unfortunetly, our judical system failed once again. As long as both sides in a trail continue to pick the stupidest, uneducated, unaware, and lacking common sense people to sit on a jury trial, this will happen again.
Let me get this straight. When the jury agrees with your verdic they are smart, but when they disagree they are "the stupidest, uneducated, unaware, and lacking common sense"? That sounds like a really smart way to interact within a community!
#1 they couldn't prove that the duct tape was around her mouth and nose, because of decomposition. It was in the area. I am not sure of her guilt. Onedinky do please inform those of us who are not sure... how did the death of this child happen and where was it done before the child was thrown in the swamp. Enquiring minds want to know.
Who says Casey put the body in the trunk. The way it sounds more than one person had access to the vehicle. Who is to say Caylee wasn't left in what was suppose to be good hands while Casey was out partying... Again circumstantial.
You have got to be kidding, does not report her missing for 31 days, makes up a bunch of lies for the 31 days, never even seen her shed a tear for her daughter. Yeah, I'm sure she left her in good hands Brad
"Who says Casey put the body in the trunk. The way it sounds more than one person had access to the vehicle. Who is to say Caylee wasn't left in what was suppose to be good hands while Casey was out partying... Again circumstantial."
brad, it was casey,...she was the only one who lied about the whereabouts of the child from the begining....that is guilt behavior,...if she had nothing to do with it then why lie?...if she didnt know what happened to the child then it belies logic to conceal that fact, by concocting several different stories to the police...all the way to the point where she sat in jail for nearly 3 years charged with murder....at what point do you think it would have been apropriate to clue the police in on the truth?
So you are one of those who hate to be told that you are wrong. In that case that finger goes to you too, and all of the people who prosecuted and gave her the death penalty even before all the facts were out. A panel of OUR peers decided she is not guilty and that's good enough for me. Some people are just a Dis-Grace
Angelou, OUR PEERS??? not my peers. maybe yours, but not mine. Mine have a lot more brains than these idiots, but that's the way the defense likes 'em, REAL STUPID and non judgmental. "can't connect the dots" and "couldn't determine a cause of death" were no excuses for letting a murderer walk free. Not disclosing where her child's body could be found after driving it around in her trunk and making a so-called accident look like a murder while lying through her teeth the entire time while implicating her ENTIRE FAMILY to save her sorry behind when there was ZERO PROOF to back her pathological lies and making her father answer to HER LIES WHILE NOT HAVING TO ANSWER TO HER OWN, makes her guilty not only to me, but to MILLIONS OF OTHERS. I and millions like me could not CARE LESS what is good enough FOR YOU. She is a lying, thieving, child murderer and I hope she gets what she's got coming....VERY SOON.
Valerie, these are your peers whether you like it or not, unless, you are posting on this thread from Pakistan or afghanistan pretending to be an American. Unfortunately for you and MILLIONS OF OTHERS, you got brain washed by the media and their premeditated verdict of guilty (that must be embarrassing). The jury panel stated that they were not exposed to the media, and guess what happened, they were able to reach a conclusion without the brainwashing. My original post stands.
Angelou, If you are a parent and your child was tossed into a death pit, in a garbage bag, maybe dead , maybe not, still fighting for breath, I wonder if you would still feel the same. If the person arrested had all the circumstantial evidence pointed directly at them and and this same type of non thinking jurors found the perp not guilty - I wonder if you would pat them on the back and say "Job well done" as you flip the rest of the world off??????????
So, according to you since I am a parent, I have to find Anthony guilty? How about giving the accussed a chance to defend herself before, we, as PARENTS decide that she is guilty. If you were a parent and something happened to your child and you didn't do it, would you like the media? or the Jury to decide wether you live or die?
Angelou, let me clarify this. The jurors did not necessarily believe she was "not guilty", they just didn't feel there was beyond reasonable doubt. I watched an interview with one of the jurors. According to her she was "sick" about the not guilty verdict. She specifically said the verdict did not mean they thought Casey was "innocent". I think that because the death penalty was involved, they were overly cautious about wanting the "beyond a reasonable doubt". Since most of the evidence was circumstantial, they were scared to convict. My reading of the jurors body language and words make it pretty obvious that deep down she thought Casey was guilty
Angelou I agree with you 100%. They were a jury of OUR peers and she was innocent until proven guilty and lets face it they did not prove that beyond a reasonable doubt.
Do I think she is innocent I have no idea and we will never really know what happened to that little girl.
I do think there was a whole lot more to this family that was has been talked about.
Valerie - you wrote: "can't connect the dots" and "couldn't determine a cause of death" were no excuses for letting a murderer walk free.
Those are the EXACT reasons for finding someone NOT guilty. Juries are not supposed to connect the dots. The prosecution is supposed to PROVE guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
To everyone who says they agree with the jury and that they "have no idea" what happened to Caylee - those 3 little words say a lot about who the stupid people are.
And unless every crime can be solved with the so-called smoking gun, with fingerprints, DNA, a videotape, a confession, etc, then "beyond a reasonable doubt" implies that jurors must use their logical reasoning abilities and yes - connect the damn dots! The prosecution did an excellent job laying out those dots, and even connected them for the jury, but this jury was incapable of connecting dots even if they had numbers on them and used a big fat crayon. There was a time when we didn't have the ability to use DNA or fingerprint testing, or that we didn't have cameras catching the crime in action, so the jury HAD to use their reasoning skills. It seems now that we have those testing capabilities, people seem to think that we can't convict without that. Having those types of "smoking guns" would indicate proof beyond a "shadow of a doubt," which, is not required in these trials - only "reasonable" doubt. A jury does not have to have a smoking gun - only the ability to think logically and connect the dots. Is it a harder job? SURE because they have to weigh the evidence and come up with their own conclusion and move forward from that. But this jury clearly wanted a videotape or they would've acquitted. Without that smoking gun they weren't going to bother - so justice WAS NOT done and that is why everyone is so mad at them. One of the jurors had a cruise that started on the 7th, so deliberating any longer than 10 hours would've made him/her miss it. Such a travesty.
Sorry, but you can't convince me that the entire jury decided to set a killer free so one of them could make a cruise.
The truth is that the prosecution went out on a limb and the limb broke. They did not have the evidence needed to prove capital murder. If they had tried Casey for a lesser charge of involuntary or negligent homicide - she would be serving 15-25 years.
Don't get me wrong - I think she was very much involved with Caylee's death, but I am not certain it was cold blooded murder and that is the problem - the jury wasn't convinced either.
"Sorry, but you can't convince me that the entire jury decided to set a killer free so one of them could make a cruise. "
truth is stranger than fiction, it is entirely possible thats exactly what they did....but more likely is they sympothized with her because she was a young pretty white girl....if she was a black girl she would be sitting on death row as we speak....they convict people on less evidence than what was presented in this case....the jury had the choice to convict her on the lesser charge of negligent homicide or abuse of a child,...but didnt,
the only relivant facts to this case are,
1, the cadaver dog smelled the body in the trunk of "her" car. (any other evidence as to the odor in the car is irrelevant,..the human olfactory sense is limited at best, the cadaver dog is not likely to be wrong,...and the body didnt reach its final resting place on its own)
2, casey lied about the whereabouts of the child to police and her parents. not once, not twice not three times but many times....exhibiting typical guilt behavior.
3,casey partied while her childs corpse sat rotting in the sun in trash bags on the side of the road being eaten by animals , her subsiquent lies shows she not only knew the child was dead, but where the child body was,...showing a complete disregard for her child and complete lack of remose over the loss.
4, she looked up chloraform on her computer,...at least once....(the exact number is irrelevant)
5, traces of possible chloraform were found in the trunk of her car....not likely to be a coincidence considering the rest of the facts.
6, no specific motive is nessicary,..many murders go to trial without any motive.
7, no prior signs of abuse is nessicary, there is no garauntee that a mother will exhibit abusive behavior before murdering her child....(the Smith case in point.)
everything else in this trial is irrelevant....this is enough evidence to convict her of negligent homicide at the very least.
So, Mason believed Casey's story from the beginning? Which story would that be, Mr. Mason? The kidnapping? The "nanny has her"? The drowning? The fiance? The job she didn't really have? Daddy is a molestor? Fess up; I think since you said you believed her story; do tell. WHICH story???
Whether he thought she was innocent or guilty doesn't matter, he HAS to tell you he believes her because his answers affects the reputaion of his entire office. You all need to start think outside the box a little instead of condemning him like that.
He did his job for what he was hired to do and he has sworn under OATH to perform his duties to the best of his ability. Had he or any member of his staff thrown Casey to the wolves and it was found out they could get disbarred.
Same applies to the prosection. They are sworn under OATH to prosecute Casey to the best of their ability.
Both sides are held to legal obligations.
When they accepted the case, they are held to it by LAW and under OATH to do so.
Yes, I agree she most certainly did it. Maybe Mr Mason & Baez should take her in, let her babysit for their grandchildren & children. Wonder how that would go. Lets face it folks, the country is grieving for a baby that will receive no justice, the jury let her mother walk. We have to get past this, we need to move this horrible injustice & try to do something good out of it. Never forget that sweet baby, we need to keep her memory alive & Caylees's Law is a good place to start, we can do more. (I guess I always thought it was common sense to report your baby missing, didn't know we needed to make it a law) Unfortunately for the jury, they have to live with their decision I have not heard of anyone actually harming them, just people spewing their opinions, we do have "freedom of speech" in this country. Are they ashamed of what they did, or are they actually afraid? Maybe both. I certainly would not want to hear of any of the jury being physically harmed.
Exactly what I'm sure most everyone is wondering. Which story? If she didn't actually kill her child she certainly had a hand in it. Even when the mother walks, there is no guarantee she won't become a headline reading 'Missing Person'....there's a lot of angry people out there. I do feel sorry for the jury though, they were just doing their job, even if I don't agree with it. This woman is the OJ of this decade.
exactly...but then again, what else WOULD he say? If he didn't believe her, would he actually come out now and say "hey everybody, just kidding...she really did it. Sorry."
Exactly JPat, and what exactly is "THE STORY" by the way? That Caylee drowned in the pool while Casey was doing her nails? While she went to the store? While she was out partying? Or was she actually there and just let her drown to be free of the burdens of motherhood? And what happened after that? Why didn't she call 911? How did Caylee end up in the swamp? Why didn't she tell anyone for 30+ days?
The defense could of saved a lot of this animosity towards Casey by having her admit that she panicked after the "drowning" and/or was in denial about precious Caylee's death, and couldn't face it or come to terms with it. Any decent parent would at least admit that it was their fault if their child drowned, even accidentally. That could of at least garnered some reasonable sympathy from 80% of the gullible world...
Whether she did it or not is not a factor in doing the best job to get her off.
Incorrect. Lawyers are ethically not allowed to defend people they believe to be guilty. He could be disbarred for that. So of course he's going to say he believes her.
Jen82, defense attorneys regularly get paid to defend people they know are guilty. I can assure you that from personal experience. How else would defendants find attorneys or get court-appointed attorneys to defend them? Think about that logically. That's why we have confidential attorney-client privileges.
Incorrect. Lawyers are ethically not allowed to defend people they believe to be guilty. He could be disbarred for that. So of course he's going to say he believes her.
Jen82 is living proof that a little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing. Defense lawyers are certainly ethically allowed to defend not only people they believe to be guilty but the actual guilty ones. What they can't do is suborn perjury - that is knowlingly have their client get on the witness stand and lie. This misconception also is why the jury instructions not to take into consideration whether Casey took the stand in her own defense or not - can be equally misleading. Innocent people don't have to testify in their own defense; guilty people rarely do for exactly the reasons most of these commentors are so angry. She lied and played while her baby was dead. She certain is guilty of several things but your point was completely incorrect.
@JPatmore, do you work in defense law? I do. By your comment, I'm guessing you do not, and your information is coming largely from Google.
While it is not illegal from a criminal standpoint to represent a client you believe to be lying, from the standpoint of the state bar's ethics rules (every bar has ethics rules), this is a violation that can result in sanctions. Unless Ms. Anthony were pleading guilty and seeking a plea bargain, to adequately defend her and be a zealous advocate for the client (another ethical requirement) would require deliberately lying in court. A defense attorney in this position should recuse himself.
And I will further add that, if such zealous advocacy can be shown to cross the line into purgery and criminal conspiracy, it absolutely can result in the defense attorney's being prosecuted!
@alwaysinJuly - Don't be so obtuse. I have thought about it "logically," but I don't believe that you have. The existence of ethics rules does not prevent people from breaking those rules. It just prevents them from coming out and saying they believe their clients are guilty. But these people are taking a big risk - if they know their clients are guilty, and it can be proven that they 1) knew and 2) lied in court, it IS criminal conspiracy.
So of course Mr. Mason either 1) convinced himself that his client was innocent, or 2) is blatantly lying.
Innocent people don't have to testify in their own defense; guilty people rarely do for exactly the reasons most of these commentors are so angry. She lied and played while her baby was dead.
Correction. No one has to testify in their own defense. Guilty people rarely do because they don't have to.
What about a lawyer that has been reprimanded three different time by law authorities on hugging your client. Bozo Baez was reprimanded twice at the jail and once at the courthouse. Before they went into the courtroom to hear the verdict another lawyer saw Anthony and Baez in a corner and she was stroking his face. According to the law books I am sure this is the biggest unethical thing a lawyer can do but Baez did it anyway!!
Nancy, it doesn't matter if you think someone is guilty of something, our society functions because everyone gets a fair representation and is presumed innocent until proven guilty. You obviously do not care to observe our system's laws and that is why you'll never be responsible for distributing justice. She was not proven guilty of the crimes for which she was accused in the court of law, period. I don't care if you think it is "wrong" that she wasn't punished for neglecting her child because she wasn't charged as such. If the jurors had all been emotionally compromised they would have been removed from the jury. If they had started trying to find her guilty because they feel that she "did SOMETHING wrong" then they would be removed from the jury. Thier decision can only be based on information as provided in the courtroom and nowhere else. Anything short of that and the whole system fails to truly achieve justice.
Usurping the court's role. A defender who refuses to defend the guilty, or offers a less vigorous defense, has substituted his or her own judgment that the client is guilty for the verdict of the judge or jury. Not only does this violate the trial's division of labor, it denies the defendant the due process that trials are meant to provide by, in effect, convicting the defendant before the trial. Sometimes this argument is phrased as a point about the nature of truth in law: when Boswell asked Dr. Johnson how he could represent a cause known to be bad, Johnson replied, "Sir, you do not know it to be good or bad till the Judge determines it."
I would love to hear Mr. Scum bag's story!!!! There are so many and I guess it was the defense that was "throwing it all out there to see which one sticks".
I think Mason should take her into his home, and embrace her just as he did publically....he believes her that much....let him put his mouth into action and give the poor innocent a home and a refuge!!!!!!!!!
Mason is all about publicity.....let him back up his big mouth and take care of her.....see how strong he believes in her then
Are you going to offer anything insightful or just keep babbling Angelou cause I am tired of hearing your idiocy along with everyone else. Go crawl back under the rock you came from moron
I think I would sleep with one eye open if he took her in. Good question about letting her babysit his children - would be interested in hearing his answer. The more all of this get into this frenzy the more money she stands to make. Her ex-fiance' said she will now have everything she wanted, freedom, money and fame. The first thing she needs to do is check herself into a hospital and get "fixed" so she will never be able to have another child.
In one of Mason's interview the other night they asked him if she wanted to come live with you would you let her and he said yes, yes I would and so would Shirley (his wife), for a little while anyway.
"In one of Mason's interview the other night they asked him if she wanted to come live with you would you let her and he said yes, yes I would and so would Shirley (his wife), for a little while anyway"
lol...right,..for about 2 seconds,....notice they didnt ask if they would let casey baby sit.
What he didn`t say was that he would probably make her stay in the barn and not be allowed in the house , also he would probably charge her rent. as soon as the money ran out from book deals etc and she couldn`t pay the $10,000 a month rent for staying in the barn he would kick her to the curb.
He makes me sick. This whole convoluted story makes me sick. That defense team did use one dirty filthy trick after another; And if this sorry excuse for a human being believed that evil woman's lies from the very first, then, they deserve to burn in hell together.
Nick are you suggesting these attorney's worked for free? I don't think so. They were in fact paid to represent her...it was their JOB. Are you so naive to believe these people actually BELIEVED in her innocence?
You don't have much experience with courts do you. Practially all attorneys lie and do what ever to win a case if they think they can get away with it.
Hey Nick yes they were paid and let me tell you Baez got $200 thousand before the state (Florida taxpayers) paid the rest. The $200 thousand was paid to Casey from ABC and then she gave it to him.
Nick, It is public information that ABC paid Casey $250,000.00 which went into an account to pay for her defense. Haven't you heard the IRS is after her to the tune of $70,000.00 for not paying any taxes on that money? Once those funds were expended and she was "unable to afford an attorney" the State of Florida had to start picking up her legal tab.
Supposedly, Chaney Mason "volunteered" his time because he didn't like the public backlash that Baez was receiving. This was after MASON went on t.v. in an interview saying he wouldn't be involved with such a case. Guess he changed his mind once he saw how much free advertising he woud get with all the national attention this case started receiving (or is that just me being pessimistic? He probably did it out of the "goodness" of his two-faced heart?)
Tina, Love it. Saying it like it is. He, (Mason) really is a gross man and is just about as believable as Casey. Gross out. I would really like to know WHAT story he really bought of Casey's. There are so many to pick from.
Being found Not Guilty does not mean she didn't kill her child. The defense team did a masterful job by "shotgunning" mud on the wall and seeing what stuck. They blamed anyone and everyone in Caylee's death BUT Casey. They ignored the facts albeit mostly circumstantial. Similar to the approach OJ's defense team did in his murder trial. Blame everyone. Make up sensational stories like the sexual abuse of Casey for example supposedly by her father. The defense stated it but never brought forth one iota that the allegation was factual but it obviously weighed on the jury. They just ignored the questions. Why the 30 days to report the child missing? Why the body had duct tape on it? Why the partying with your child missing and not telling anyone of any concerns? Oh, never mind, Casey's father was the one who kept everything covered up - and yet the defense had no evidence to their crazy accusations...yet the jury bought it!!!
Like many correspondents in the court room, most wondered what trial the jury had been listening to when they came back with their strange verdict.
The defense stated it but never brought forth one iota that the allegation was factual but it obviously weighed on the jury. They just ignored the questions.
They don't have to prove their defense. ALL the burden of proof is on the prosecution. Just because you have a theory the defense dosn't have to disprove it. Just enough reasonable doubt that the theory is correct.
Jayson I was wondering the same thing, what were they watching? I was shocked to hear that the jury did not think the state did not show a motive. Did they need a video I don't think they had a video of Scott Peterson killing Lacey either. I think the jury actually deliberated for a week before they reached a verdict. They asked to review alot of the testimonies actually looked hard at the OVERWHELMING CIRCUMSTANTIAL EVIDENCE. The Anthony jury misunderstood their job, the Judge is actually the person who decides the punishment.
The jury deliberated for less than 11 hours. 11 HOURS.! Took few notes, over 400 pages of testimony, 31 days of trial, number of expert witnesses, evidence, videos and tapes, and they didn't ask to review one thing. 11 HOURS, and people think the jurors actually WEIGHED THE EVIDENCE.
One juror didn't even graduate from high school, although he certainly was a juror of her peers.
One had a previous arrest for possession of drug paraphernalia, one for DUI, another who had a sib, jailed for spousal abuse.
So we can be sure that they really considered the evidence. Perhaps they were too anxious to see how much money they could make from media exposure. The young juror who apparently was very anxious to get on, was the first to give an interview. Another one of the males has been offered $50,000.00 from several different media groups for an interview, and is holding out for more.
Mason and Baez caught the LIAR-BUG big-time from their very guilty client. And for him to say on National TV that 'she stuck to her story from the very beginning and didn't waver' is totally a lie. AND HE KNOWS IT. She was given the opportunity at least twice to 'come up' with the accidental drowning theory (story) and she basically laughed it off. She then proceeded to tell many lies. Oh yeah, she may have stuck to 'her story' for a while: 'THE NANNY DID IT'. Well, Mason, neither YOU nor the prosecution ever came up with any evidence to support that. And for you and Baez to say that George did it was reprehensible. And you also lied on National TV regarding her hair length. Who cut her bangs??? IF her bangs were cut why not the rest of her hair?? SHE wants her hair long--SHE thinks she looks 'sexy'......but she is totally mistaken.
Angelou (6)No one 'GAVE' Casey 'the death penalty. It was a possible sentence IF she was found guilty of FIRST DEGREE MURDER. The jury did have TWO other options that would have NOT resulted in the possibility of a death sentence. Tell me..what did Casey give to Caylee??? A DEATH SENTENCE. And it was carried out in one of the most heinous child-deaths I (and many others) have ever read/heard about. And....the prosecution did NOT charge Casey with 1st Degree Murder until MANY, MANY pieces of evidence was found and they ALL linked to just ONE PERSON: Casey Marie Anthony and ....NO ONE ELSE. And for you to single out Nancy Grace is a 'disgrace'. Nancy just told it like it was and so didn't many other people. She may have been more passionate-but who can blame her. Her fiance was murdered many years ago-and his murdered walked after just TWO YEARS- and she IS a mother who loves her children very, very much; unlike Casey Marie Anthony.
Oh to all of you who think Baez is just wonderful: Go read up on his background. THAT will make you sick to your stomach. NYTimes Article titled: Sordid Cast of Characters Around Casey Anthony. After reading this article tell me if YOU really think this guy should be practicing law??? Yes, he did 'win' his case--but did anyone leave with dignity?????
"what did Casey give to Caylee??? A DEATH SENTENCE. And it was carried out in one of the most heinous child-deaths I (and many others) have ever read/heard about."
Exactly which media outlet did you read this story from? My friend you are another one who got brainwashed by the Media. Jurors were spared having to hear all the premeditated verdics put out by the Dis-Grace-Ful media outlets and guess what their verdic was.....NOT GUILTY.
Angelou-I followed this case from the very beginning-I doubt you did, too. Did YOU know that Casey put heart stickers on Tracey, Padillo's bodyguard that lived with the Anthony's for 9 days??? Yes..she came out of her bedroom with heart stickers (and no doubt from the same group that the one that was put on Caylee's duct-taped mouth) and put one on Tracey's knee and at least one to two other parts of her being???? Did YOU know that???? That is just about one of the biggest pieces of evidence linking Casey to the killing of her daughter. I don't care what the jury 'came back with'....they did get it wrong-and the majority of society thinks so, too. Apparently YOU didn't listen to the prosecutors' closing arguments laying out all the actions before, during and after little, precious Caylee's very untimely death. Nancy was just the 'messenger' as was many other talk show hosts and guests.
What are you talking about Angelou....??? This woman waited 31 days to report her own child missing!!!! You must not have children of your own because any other parent out there would know that that alone should be enough to send her away. She had a responsibility to protect that child and did not do it. Even if it was an accidental death does not change the fact that she lied, lied, lied, and lied again to save her own butt while her child's body rotted in the woods.
TSS "Nancy was just the 'messenger' as was many other talk show hosts and guests."
That's your problem, you were listening to too many "talk show hosts and guests," All of those people were so convinced that the jury would find Anthony guilty they thought they could capitalize on in and jump on the band wagon. After they real verdic came out, their credibility just went down the drain. Now, THAT, is a fact. Only the loonies would continue to listen to those "show hosts and guests" after the Dis-Graceful display of professionalism.
Dawn, I believe you and the Jury are in agreement! Anthony did lie to investigators, the jury found her guilty of lying to investigators, she will get punished for that.
She was sentenced for lying to investigators and that's it...they did not even hold her responsible for child neglect for failing to report her missing. This is a travesty and the jury got it ALL wrong!!! Poor Caylee and I doubt this case will reopen and there will be no more attempts to find "the real killer" because the real killer is walking free on Sunday. An absolute miscarriage of justice as far as I'm concerned.
My God, I admire and concur the way you have summarized the Defense Team, and your right, " Nancy Grace is so passionate and always honest" (LOVE HER)!!!
Baez and Mason in my opinion should be disbarred.. they misled the prosecution in thinking that their Sociopath client was going to testify and then come up with the Child Molestation (with no evidence ) and not putting the narcisisst on the stand!! At your age you shouldn't be acting like your a tough cookie and enough with the Constitution because with your irritating voice you put that whole courtroom into total boredom.
watch yourself jake, I agree this was a miscarriage of justice and believe what comes out of mason's mouth as much as i believe casey BUT i don't encourage vigilante justice for any reason and neither should you.
Great questions Savannah! I wasn't going to watch the Cheney Mason interview but I'm glad I did. You did such a good job of exposing this man and his delusional thinking. He believed her? Really?!!! Nothing that ever comes out of her mouth is the truth, such a "good liar" as she said herself. I agree with Ralph above, justice was not served. However, NBC is so very fortunate to have Savannah Guthrie. She is a gifted journalist, lovely, bright and insightful.
Who did then Cheney Mason, who did? While you were busy "toasting the constitution" (very poor taste esp. out in public) and giving us all the bird, you forgot one thing. CAYLESE IS STILL DEAD!
Way to spell her name wrong while trying to show her some "support" you bloodthirsty rube. This trial wasn't about whether or not someone was responsible for her death, and if you feel that Casey should have been charged that way then you can only blame the prosecutors- not the jury who are legally required to only follow the evidence they are presented, and not the defense, who are legally obligated to offer the best possible defense for thier clients no matter how "disgusting" people may think they are. Its pretty sad to see people lower themselves this far.
But that is the perfect jury for any trial. They search the ones with the least common sense and education level. Our judical system is based on this philosphy.
You are all fools who openly ignore that the single most important concept behind all of this is "innocent until proven Guilty" and that has nothing to do with how badly you thirst for vengeance. If they can't prove it in court then it isn't true, with no exceptions. Nancy Grace is an example of a shameful attention monger whose experience in the justice system should put her above things like insulting the jury for a verdict, and her attitude is the reason she can no longer legally act as a prosecutor in the first place.
Wow. Cheney Mason sounds like a crackpot. His unprofessional comments, flipping off someone in front of dozens of cameras, attacking anyone who has commented on the case..... sounds like someone is an attention seeker and wants his own spot (and $$$) in the limelight. Shame on the Today Show for giving it to him.
We really need to make sure NOT ONE PERSON connected to this horrible injustice makes NOT ONE PENNY! Do not give any of these "people" anything for their stories. I will boy cot anything connected to them making any revenue! Everyone should be aware of the wolves trying to make a buck off of little Caylee's murder.
Idk, this guy beat all odds and got Anthony acquitted. He had the media and, apparently, "two thirds of Americans" against him. In my opinion, he deserves a high five for doing his job.
This is what Sarah Palin and Rick Perry insinuated days before Gabrielle Gifford got shot in the head. Yes, this should make America less shameful, Genious!
Cigarz: You are more concerned about the spelling of a word instead of the fact that this person is telling others to go kill someone? Now, that's mocking your own intelligence.
By the way, you meant to say "I love (it) when..." and not "I love when.."
I love it when people attempt to mock someone for not spelling a word correctly and they can't even write a sentence correctly to begin with. LOL
Well its just proving that your an under educated, interbreeding dumb piece of human excrement. Did i spell that right? Oh thats right you have no brain let alone an education Angelou. Freaking moron
While I usually never address grammatical errors, you asked.
"its", is spelled it's. You need an apostrophe. "under educated" should actually be uneducated. "Interbreeding", should be interbred to be grammatically correct.
"I" should have been capitalized on the second line. "thats" also should have had an apostrophe as it's a conjunction, and there should be a comma between education and Angelou.
Other than that, I agree that Angelou is incorrect.
The jury did the job they were empanelled to do, and did it based on the information presented. They followed the letter of the law and you don't like it. GET OVER IT AND MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIVES! All of you people spewing this vitriol are no better than Casey herself. You need to take a long look in the mirror at who YOU really are!
cooky, i bet you could move right on with your life had a member of your family been murdered, and a jury like this let them walk. I just bet you would.........................
Oh Quiet so Caylee was a member of your family? Taking it terribly personally just like many others here. Wish you would all be this impassioned when it comes to looking after those that can't do so while they are alive!
"cooky, i bet you could move right on with your life had a member of your family been murdered, and a jury like this let them walk. "
The statement above is what I was responding to.
For the record, I was not alive when JFK was killed, and no it is upsetting to me, but in this case, I think that Caylee's death is a tragedy, but justice is justice, and the jury here did what they thought were right based on the evidence they had, not the bias in the media. I would hope that most people in the US actually would count on being given the opportunity to be tried fairly and not in the court of the media.
Given though that she has been acquitted, and I do not know her or her family, I do believe that moving on would be a good idea. Why is it that people here get incensed by this, but will allow their leaders to gamble with their safety, well-being and other bigger issues? Is it not a sign of a collective low IQ that this emotional issue gets so much play but issues like cutting off aid to food programs for hungry children does not? Should we have a trial then to see how many kids are slowly dying? When will they get justice - after they starve or are put into dysfunctional foster programs?
cooky, good name we are here discussing our opinions, if you don't like the subject matter, get off the post why don't you instead of telling us how we should get over it.
Quiet..for the record. Back in 1976 my 17 year old sister was killed by a drunk driver. That drunk driver left the scene of the accident and walked to the nearest bar, consumed several shots, then informed the bartender there had been an accident and to call for help. The man was charged only for leaving the scene of an accident, since they could not prove if he was drunk before or after the fact. BTW, he was also driving on a suspended license, due to the 10 DUI arrests he'd already had that year. He got off. Of course I was angry, this guy was guilty as sin and he got off. Anger and retaliation was not going to bring my sister back. That was 35 years ago. YES, I had to move on with my life! The rest of you who want to hang Casey and the jury without all the facts in place or the actual proof of how she actually died are just a bunch of hate mongers that believe everything the mainstream media spoon feeds you! Yes, I have plenty of questions I'd like Casey to answer. But this type of "guilty by the jury of public opinion" has no place in our society. I hope this kind of thing never happens to any of you "good christians". May God have mercy on your judgmental souls!
Gee, Cooky, I took your advice. I stood in front of the mirror to see who I REALLY was. Do you know what I saw? I saw a woman who wouldn't let 31 seconds go by if I didn't know where my baby was. Who wouldn't be so composed and smirky in a courtroom.
How can she answer for 31 days missing? How can that jury let her go?
In Florida it may not be against the law to report one's child missing, but I don't believe that's the point. No, it's not a crime, but if your child is missing for 31 days and you not only don't report it, but fabricate lies about her whereabouts and activities that truly is abnormal and suspicious. She only admitted the child was missing when her mother showed up and forced her hand. Otherwise without Cindy and George, Caylee would never have been reported missing. Even when confronted she fabricated yet another lie that suddenly she had been kidnapped by an fabricated nanny.
The list goes on and on and is so circumstantial that anyone that actually followed the trial, not Nancy Grace, reviewed the testimony and evidence on line, could draw no other conclusion than she was guilty of aggravated child abuse, a number 1 felony.
Regarding the tape. The tape was stuck to Caylee's hair, and strands of the fiber to her skull. Her body was in a bag that was one of a two part set found in the Anthony home. The tape was unique and found in the Anthony home.
The outfit was one that Cindy Anthony did not recognize, but had been photographed on Caylee, so perhaps it had been kept at the boyfriend's home. She had done a chloroform search on her computer. Her boyfriend had the formula for chloroform on his Facebook page.
There were traces of chloroform and human decomposition in the trunk of her car. She had told her cellmate that she had used chloroform in the past to put Caylee to sleep so she could go out. The list goes on and on and on and on.
It is not necessary to prove how Caylee died to find her guilty.
the question here is what happen to the little girl and does the mother knows what happen? Is very important that the mother talks about this in her own words. To so call clear this mess. Until then no one is going to believe her. So Casey prove us wrong. After all is your little girl is time you seek justice for your child.
Ok, so Caylee died as a result of an accident. (Perhaps a chloroform accident.) Since it can't be determined exactly how she died, let's leave that subject alone for the moment and look into Casey's relationship with her parents. I don't understand why Casey is so mad at her parents. I can understand why they would be so frustrated with her. Personally, I think Casey blames her mom for her arrest and everything that has happened to her since the arrest because Cindy, in Casey's twisted mind, started it. Cindy made the call to 911 and reported Caylee missing. I guess the family was supposed to say, ok, Caylee was kidnapped by Zanny, and go on as if nothing happened, just like Casey did. And poor George's reputation got shredded by Casey. No way do I believe he helped cover up the "accidental" drowning and hid the body or molested Casey. I can understand if he never talked to Casey again. Casey, since she has turned away her family, will get released, burn the bridges quickly with the people who are associating with her, and will probably try to limp her way back to her parent's house.
Ralph Tool (25): I agree with you that the PARENTS should be the ones to be extremely angry at their daughter and want nothing to ever do with her. The reason Casey is acting that way to her mother (and most likely any other family members and EX-friends) is that she is a Narcissistic Personality Disorder and a Passive Agressive--let alone a Sociopathic Liar and murderess. NPD with PA do just that. They clam up towards those they have hurt and then 'turn things around' to make their VICTIMS look like the abusers. Her lawyers are doing/did the same thing. They are all peas-in-a-pod. Loyal to each other because they all think like each other. Go back and read my earlier post and link up to the article regarding Baez and the other "Sordid Cast" of characters surrounding the murdress.
At worst, she did indeed kill her little child. At the least, she knew what had happened, lied and partied during the investigation. Any mother having lost a child would have been in a state of agony worrying about their daughter....not this one. I for one believe she is a murderer and perhaps even her family was in on it. Justis was skirted on this one. Shame! We all will however "Reap what we sow".
Sorry Mr. Mason but I believe that your unwavering faith in Ms. Anthony will be proven wrong. This is a sociopath..These folks can lie like nobody's business. You are a trusting soul and she can smell that a mile away.
We'll, he's certainly is NO Perry Mason.
Let the "civil" proceedings begin. Their "burden of proof" is less & justice might finally be done. Think O.J.?
(Still sounds like double jeopardy to me, but I'm not making the laws.)
Mason.
"never underestimate the stupidity of the American people"
Get over it. Case is over. Stop dwelling on this.
Silverfire,
were you an alternate on the jury? You sound like you belong on there.
Who needs courts anymore.. We have the media and this forum..
I believe she did not kill her child. No one knows how the child died, but her. And no one should expect her to act rationally after loosing a child.
Because, thankfully, we don't live in a total police state where the state is both mother and father...
Freedom = Responsibility
Safety & Security = Slavery & Servitude
Casey Anthony was offered a porn job by Steve Hirsch, President of Vivid Entertainment, one of the biggest porn producers in So. Cal.
The next day HE WITHDREW THE OFFER.
Then Talent Agency Paradigm signed Jose Baez as a client.
5 1/2 hours later, Paradigm withdrew the offer. I'll bet some big Hollywood star threatened to sign with another agency.
spiddas
99.99% of the time, the jury gets it right.
Unfortunately, the prosecutor f'd up on this case.
He should have charged her with negligent homicide. The jury may have agreed to that.
mike-3679485 - Don't know where the child was for 31 days - we will never know.
Yep. Negligent homicide would be a lesser charge than straight homicide.
Alexia:
Freedom = Responsibility
Safety & Security = Slavery & Servitude
I think Casey Anthony's parents are a tad psycho but I think my parents are a tad psycho too.
Casey Anthony is certifiable.
Donna:
JCB and Skor, I could not agree more....
The jury came to the only conclusion they could within the context of the courts, because the prosecution failed to prove the case, plain and simple.
califgina--- wrong wrong wrong wrong-- Did I say Wrong
So....if Casey didn't kill Caylee, then why did she get a tatoo meaning beautiful life knowing she lied, and knowing Caylee was dumped in a swamp?
If Casey didn't kill her daughter, she would have confessed earlier, instead of confessing that it was an accident she chose lock down for 23 hours a day for 3 years...hmmmmm doesn't that strike you as odd?
I wonder if he still believe in the tooth fairy too. How about Santa???
Santa didn't bring you anything huh...
I guess you are on the naughty list...
It's hard telling -if he believed Casey Anthony from day one.
I think this guy is a drinker and a toker. Maybe that is why he is so delusional. But I think he is a bunch of BS.
And he says he can "put his head on his pillow at night and sleep well". Well-so does Casey Anthony and she is a child killer.
We all want answers-but no one can provide them to us. Answers that are the TRUTH!
BarbaraB- then you prove that she is a child killer. Show the world your evidence of her guilt. You will be famous. If you have no PROOF then you are no better than Nancy Grace or that PROVEN boozer Jane Mitchell.
no, and I haven't got any teeth either, but what's that got to do with the fact that the B. is guilty???????????
Fool.
Skor154,
I agree with you that Casey is a sociopath.
No KristEn, Skor did not lose credibility by not getting the spelling of your name.... Skor and Rescue are spot on...
Ok, so who killed her?
Apparently, someone smart enough to make it look like Casey Anthony did it.
That's irrelevant to the matter at hand. The purpose of the trial was to determine if a specific party (Ms. Anthony) was guilty.
It was the one armed man.
Gary.. asking rhetorical questions again?
SP-3268112-The title of this article is 'Casey Anthony Attorney: She Did Not Kill her Child'...We know she's dead..I'm pretty sure she didn't kill herself, and if she did, I'm pretty sure she didn't bury herself. My question is relevant to THIS article. That's what we're all responding to, isn't it?
Robert Karp-- the one-armed paperhanger maybe? I have been hearing of that one-armed paperhanger for years, and he was always the guilty one.
Robert Karp- About time someone made a twin peaks reference.
Nope. It's reference to the Fugitive.
Robert- Damn, well I'm gonna forget I ever read that and go on with my day happy that someone else remembers that show =P
Let's just hope that someone takes out this scumbag soon. It's a shame that scum like this guy give attorneys a bad name.
"I don't think she has changed her story at all". LOL This guy must think all Americans are as dumb as the Anthony jury.
Exactly what do you mean by "takes out this scumbag," Jake. Are you trying to be like Palin and Rick Perry who call people to take up their guns out to the streets and then deny having anything to do with the shooting?
idiot
OneDinkyDow "Good grief, a monkey could figure this out."
Well, the Jury and I were able to figure it out! What does that say about you and the rest of the INcredibles! lol!
figure what out?...at best you didnt believe casey didnt do it, probably because she is a pretty white girl,...so you really didnt figure anything out,...you were pretty much snowballed....if casey was a black girl she would be on death row faster than you could say "duct tape"....you know its true.

Landspirit,
There is absolutely NO evidence that she was a victim of incest except what the attorney said on his opening which apparently he heard from a pathological liar.
YUP!
OneDinkyDow "Good grief, a monkey could figure this out."
Well, the Jury and I were able to figure it out! What does that say about you and the rest of the INcredibles! lol!
I have to agree with you cooper.
P>
I do think there was a whole lot more to this family that was has been talked about.
myopinion and Angelou... I concur.
Touche! J Patmore. Exactly what I was wondering. Which story Mr. Mason has not changed since the beginning?
Sorry."
Lyrica, If Casey does go missing I hope everyone waits 31 days to report it.
And has a party in the meantime.
He gets paid to believe his client.
Not true. He was paid to defend her and that's what he did.
That is assuming the particular layer has any ethics
Right!!
Correction. No one has to testify in their own defense. Guilty people rarely do because they don't have to.
which should tell you, she is guilty.
@ Jen82
Mr. Mason:
Which story of hers exactly is it that you believe?????
I would love to hear Mr. Scum bag's story!!!! There are so many and I guess it was the defense that was "throwing it all out there to see which one sticks".
I think Mason should take her into his home, and embrace her just as he did publically....he believes her that much....let him put his mouth into action and give the poor innocent a home and a refuge!!!!!!!!!
Mason is all about publicity.....let him back up his big mouth and take care of her.....see how strong he believes in her then
The one question which needs to be asked of Baez & Mason: Would you let Casey Anthony babysit your children?
Actually, the bigger question is, would you let the media and a forums full of anonymous decide whether you live or die or a jury of your peers?
I agree, unfortunely, they did what they were paid to do!
Unfortunate for whom? What were they paid and who paid? Casey?
Nick are you suggesting these attorney's worked for free? I don't think so. They were in fact paid to represent her...it was their JOB. Are you so naive to believe these people actually BELIEVED in her innocence?
No they didn't work free. But they certainly didn't get enough to pay the bills.
They didn't have to believe in her innocence. They just had to defend her to the best of their ability and that happened.
Are you her accountant or just how do you know the facts. Or is this another probably did?
EC Wilson,
The jury deliberated for less than 11 hours.
Even if it was an accidental death does not change the fact that she lied, lied, lied, and lied again to save her own butt while her child's body rotted in the woods.
i agree with u tss-362801. i wached it from day 1 too. the ppl that think otherwise r out of their minds!
If you have proof to back up your statement you should have come forward then. All you have now is angry speculation.
She was already punished for that. She spent over 3 years in jail.
No matter how many people have your concern it's over. Justice was a trial and a verdict.
Nick,
She was in jail for check fraud. They counted the time she spend waiting for the trial as time spent for lying. She was a con before the trial.
watch yourself jake, I agree this was a miscarriage of justice and believe what comes out of mason's mouth as much as i believe casey BUT i don't encourage vigilante justice for any reason and neither should you.
Does anyone remember the old joke:
Do you know when an attorney is lying? When his lips move!
Maybe not a joke...
Nancy Grace !
Mr. Mason and the jurors believe Martians killed the child.
Get on Facebook, look up anything to do with C.A. - boycotts are moving forward - even for Mr Mason too
Nothing is going to happen. It's like anything else. After the initial outrage it will all be forgotten.
All The jurors of the Anthony case has a grape seed size brain with no common sense whatsover, they weren't able to connect dots
But that is the perfect jury for any trial. They search the ones with the least common sense and education level. Our judical system is based on this philosphy.
You called it-they were all a bunch of idiots who were afraid to do the right thing and took the easy way out-so they didn't have to think.
Bet they now wish things were different.
We need some street justice! Badly. This is shameful to America.
MClikeer,
While I usually never address grammatical errors, you asked.
Angelou,
for your arguments, "verdic" is spelled verdict.
Ripley's Believe it or Not. Most people do. There is no other choice.
Just wondering ...
dont be stupid
cooky, good name we are here discussing our opinions, if you don't like the subject matter, get off the post why don't you instead of telling us how we should get over it.
How can this lying scum of a lawyer say he believed Casey's story when she didn't have one? We kept waiting to hear it.
These jurors should all go into hiding...
Because in Florida it is not against the law to report your child missing. Which now they are making that into law.
The prosecution did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt she did it and the defense did their job by putting doubt there.
The jurors did their job by being open minded and not going in saying she is guilty prove her innocent that is not how our judical system works.
Myopinion,
In Florida it may not be against the law to report one's child missing, but I don't believe that's the point.
Nelson,
The problem is that Casey is such a pathological liar that no one can believe anything she says.
Shame! We all will however "Reap what we sow".
all the lying defence that say they believe casey and all the lyeing anthonys i hope they have miserable lives and rot in the woods someplace!!!
