In my life I have been the BOSS more than I have been the employee. I always used the leadership lessons I learned as a young Marine and it always served me well. I make sure my employee's know them also and we are on the same page.
Lesson#1: My priority is to accomplish the mission assigned, in private business thats serve my customers and make a profit to remain in business.
Lesson#2: Care for my troops (employees) who will be the ones to help me accomplish this mission.
#1 & #2 go hand in hand, even though #1 will always have priority.
Lesson #3: Praise often and praise in public, scold in private.
These are simple but solid leadership methods, and when you are in charge of staff you must lead them. Time and money can be managed...not people. People must be lead.
