I keep hearing about this and I think all this is just to sell a book. I think everyone has a story to tell about something similar, understand this is w/a President but think its terrible. WHY do it now?? You can't tell me you need to be healed by telling this story. You just want publicity to sell book. Do you think you are the only one, haha..we've all heard his stories of affairs, don't think you were the only one...poor you, right,,,,you talk of how much fun you had, I just think you are bragging of think you are special, you said you think he liked you...shame on you for this book.

I am very disappointed with Ann's interview this morning. She did not ask the right questions to get more information regarding the job of an intern. Ann should have investigated the role of an intern in the 60's and their freedom at the White House. As someone who has friends working at the White House, I know things go on, but I do not believe her story.

Why did Ann not ask some questions to dig deeper?

What was your job as an intern

who did you report to and did (he/she) have knowledge

how were you able to have privileges others did not have and roam freely throughout the white house and personal quarters

I don't believe her story. She most like fabricated a one time event and I do not believe it took place in the president's bedroom or stayed overnight!

Something to think about: when Ann Curry interviewed the woman who had been seduced by JFK --she asked more than once if she 'felt bad' or what about the critics saying she's 'profiting' and what about the Kennedy kids etc.
NEWSFLASH: This wasn't *HER IDEA!*
SHE didn't saunter up to JFK and say 'let's do this'. HE took her virginity--he TOOK ADVANTAGE of a young girl!

Let's take care when we interview those that have been abused by men in power. And let's not act like we're in such shock shall we? JFK screwed women left and right--from famous ones like Marilyn Monroe to maids who were really easy to take advantage of...there are nothing but accounts of his infidelity.
Ann and others should take care to lay blame where blame is due. I feel for that woman and anyone who accosts her is guilty of blaming the victim--and should be ashamed.

I think she absolutely needed to tell her story now and I find her genuine. It showcases just how different that era was and how far women have come in their positions in life. I could absolutely see a 19 year old girl being lead in that way. I could absolutely see an abuse of power or stature by the president. I could absolutely see how those events shaped her life. I'm sure many people knew of his actions and no one said a word because that's just how it was then but if they had the chance to tell their story without reprecution now, would they? This speaks to the old adage, dont judge someone until you walk in their shoes. I did not like some of Ann's questions but especially the one about why she didn't call her parents. It had an undertone that she did something wrong. It was 1963 and she was a 19 year old virgin on her own for the first time being seduced by the leader of the free world! Can't imagine why she didn't pick up the rotary phone to call home and tell her mom of the day's events. I mean we all call home immediately and tell all right? Put yourselves back in that era...these things weren't discussed and maybe her parents would have said, it's the president, keep your mouth shut and don't speak of it anymore just like her fiance did. I think the scandals are lead by the questions asked by the media sometimes. I think this book lends a very interesting perspective into an era of secrecy and intrigue. This is not a judgement on the president's part, I still think the story of Camelot is an amazing one and like millions of others wonder how the world would be today if he had lived, but why should he get to have the only say on how his actions played out....why shouldn't she since they were both players?

Why does NBC let Ann do interviews?

Honestly; everyone knows he was a philanderer--everyone knows he screwed any woman he could take advantage of--let's not pretend we don't already know this and let's take care not to vilify one of his many victims.

19 is *barely legal*--and taking advantage of a young girl like that is unforgivable.

However, she wasn't his only victim. (As we all know)

I'm glad she came forward--most haven't been so brave.

If your 19-year-old daughter's boss took her virginity, you wouldn't hesitate to call it rape. Consider the extreme imbalance of power: JFK was her boss, he was 26 years her senior, and he was President of the United States! Mimi Alford was a product of her era: In 1962 if a powerful, handsome man chose you, you didn't object. I feel for her because, even now, she's taking the blame for a situation that way beyond her control. If Alford intended to profit from this experience, she would have done it decades ago.

Today Show falls into the trap. I wrote a book infomercial. Stop taking over from the Larry King Book Club. I am tired of people like Mimi Alford USING the news media for free advertising. Think before you put stories on the air. The last one was the Robert Wagner Natalie non story which was another sell some books story. Please get back to REAL stories.

Its a shame what happened to Ms Alford. With that said, three days of interviews are enough.. Kennedy is dead .. Why worry about it now? It should not have happened but what can be done now?

well i am 19 years old and yes it may have been wrong for JFK to try to seduce her but she knew he was married she could have said no. i never heard her once say she said no. i am pretty sure if she would have he would not have pressed for more. so get off the tv woman i want to see real news!

I admired JFK,but the fact that he was married to a woman who really loved and cared about him,makes me realize he didn't feel the same about Jackie.This woman did nothing wrong,he was the one who checked his moral in at the back door.

50 years??? this is her threshold to keep her secret? or is it the fact that 50 years ago, nobody would pay a mistress to write a book about her sordid affair? she comes off as a really decent woman but her book leaves a lot of implications that a dead person can not clarify. she's no better than that housewife who wrote a book about her abusive husband AFTER he committed suicide.

who reads these kinds of books anyway? if we could only shut down the market on tell-all books, the literary world would be so much more respectable.

This is a form of brainwashing. Taking a young girl at 19 and using her for his sexual pleasure. The president abused his power as far as I'm concerned. She was chosen because she was young and a foster child. By brainwashing her, he gets away with it being consensual sex. I have experience with these type people. :) There needs to be a law that any man or woman under 21 who has a relationship with someone 15 or more years older than her is considered statutory rape. I am also glad she made it know. Teach your children people!! There are many of them. Need I mention the priests too?

This woman has finally set herself free! Don't forget when you were the young age of 19. He took advantage because predators know who their victims. Most likely picked her out of the crowd of young interns. I bet if you were chosen to be the intern you would have taken it. Unfortunately he had different ideas. She was vulnerable and she was raped. She has lived her life carrying this and has finally chosen to speak of it as she has every right to do so. I don't think her intentions are to hurt anyone. It is her story. I will read the book.

I commend this woman for coming forward... for writing about this and getting it out. When you are a victim, which in reality she was, you can keep it inside and it will eat you alive. Any counselor will advise victims to write a journal or a letter to the person they are victimized by and tell them how they feel (the letter is then destroyed). I do not blame her for what she went through.. I feel sorry for her... and the fact that the public would try to put all of the blame on her is so wrong.... JFK had a history of cheating on his wife... and those poor women if not still alive went to their graves with the guilt and pain. If you have never been a victim of rape do not judge this woman. You have not walked in her shoes.

Oh to the people who are angry, I'de say everyone should be aware of these things and I hope she makes millions on this that has haunted her for 50yrs. To the angry people; What would you do! I'm sure she was terrified to say anything. Not only that, it's an embarrassment to anyone she knew. No one should be put in that position as such a young age. It's a wonder how she made it through all those years. Just by her telling her story, she will prevent some of it from happening and make others who have been there feel better. Millions of dollars are not even enough!

“I was young”....yes Ms. Alford, you were young and you were living to satisfy your own desires. You didn't know any better then, which is called ignorance.

If you don’t want to be remembered solely as a presidential plaything, then stop talking about it and start writing about things that others could benefit from. Leave the past behind.

Make GOD your priority!

This could mean that Kennedy was killed by a person trying to get even with him. Maybe for this affair or another one. Maybe Oswald was hired by a man that whoe's wife had an affair with Kennedy?. Can't we trust anyone anymore to tell us the truth!

As a woman who lives with thirty-year-old secrets myself, I can't help but feel I am witnessing an example of what it looks like to be able to come out from behind the veil of secrets....and do this with such Grace, Softness, and Vulnerable Honesty.... Mimi shows me there is a way to preserve the Sweetness of yourself in the midst of dark and shameful stories... and through it all, find Okay-ness with your self.... I, too, wrote a book...the only difference is the fame of the people who played in the same thing called "Power" -over, with and through other people and what they choose to do with It. I know we all have secrets....do we keep the secrets to protect the guilty.... because we know if we challenge the Grand Facade it becomes the victims who become the Accused? The Truth is Just..the Truth.

People just don't get it. This woman is sad and NEEDS to tell her story, because she was in love with the president! How could she resist his charisma? She still can't even admit that to herself. Then he is tragically taken from her and she can not grieve because she was in an illicit affair and could tell NO ONE out of loyalty to him. She is finally grieving--something she has held in her heart for 50 years! I totally believe her story and don't think she has figured out yet what happened to her.

I have more to say. Many politicians have skeletons in their closet. JFK has been gone nearly 49 years and this bimbo comes out with a book. Let him rest in peace. He did more good things than negative.
