None of you have even been following the case. I've followed it very closely since I first found out about it (I was in college--same age as her) and there is NO way they have enough evidence to convict. She's innocent. Point to a SINGLE piece of evidence that proves she was there and killed her.

I feel quite badly for Meredith Kercher's family. I think it would be equally interesting to hear how they have been affected by a bolluxed up investigation, piss poor forensics and a crazy prosecutor. When prosecutors fail to do a good job, they victimize the family again. And I know all about prosecution and defense from being one of those people who do the prosecution and defense. Meredith was murdered by a man that the prosecutor cut a deal with and who will now be free to do more harm in less than a decade. I'm freaking pissed off about how the Italians blew this case. It amazes me how many armchair attorneys we have on this post who insist that Amanda is guilty.....how in heck do you know this for a fact? If you would take the time to read WHY she was found not just "NOT GUILTY" but "INNOCENT OF ALL CHARGES" your ignorance would not show so much.

In Italian Law you have the following rulings:

1. Not guilty due to insufficient evidence. (Not guilty)
2. Not guilty due to the fact that the person did not commit the crime. (Innocent)

The first option is a passive statement, but the second is a positive declaration of innocence, not simply lack of guilt. It says not that the prosecutors failed to meet their burden, but that the evidence proves that person charged did not commit the crime. It is not simply release, it is full exoneration. That is the verdict Amanda and Raffaele received: Not guilty because the evidence proved that they did not commit the crime.

To greenforallneeded - You do realize that after they arrested Amanda Knox, that they found the real killer? That the real killer had absolutely no link to Knox or her boyfriend, but received a deal to cut down his sentence if he agreed to testify against them. So the guy made up this out there story about how Knox approached him (a stranger), to join them in some sort of orgy. There was no DNA evidence linking her to the crime, no physical evidence linking her to the crime, just the real killer's made up story so he could get less time for the deed. And why did the cops believe him? Because they had made such a big deal that Knox was guilty, they'd look like a$$es if they backtracked.

Amanda was and is innocent.

They took out a mortgage on their house to pay foe feeble defense attorneys that had never even been involved in a murder trial. The courts appointed a prosecutor that was being brought up in abuse of office charges, but ignored that. How slanted could it be? The Italian media crucified her so there would never be a fair trial anywhere in Italy. I'm sorry but the overwhelming evidence proved her innocence.

The prosecution theory that it was "a sex game gone wrong" didn't make any sense to begin with. No physical evidence. No evidence period. Just a ridiculous theory and anecdotes of Knox not following the proper "script" after the tragedy occurred.

Furthermore, another man has already been convicted of the very same crime, though in his case it was a botched burglary attempt. Unlike the Knox case, this one actually had plenty of evidence and a theory that actually made sense.

Knox was convicted because she's a "promiscuous," white American girl who smiles occasionally. That's why the conviction was overturned. In the U.S., the case never would've even made it to trial. She isn't profiting from the murdered victim. Amanda is also a victim; she spend many years in a foreign prison for something she didn't do and was most likely abused and raped.

How do you know she is not guilty? Her testimony was very inconsistent and did not make sense. That would be profiting from a murder. Yes? No?

She was coerced and interogated. I don't know for sure, but I can just feel it. And if she is guilty, which I doubt, the Italian police really screwed up by not providing enough evidence. They also did not look into any other possibilities, once they had their sights on her, it was a done deal. If she is innocent, she absolutely deserves to have her story heard. I believe in innocent until proven guilty, there wasn't any evidence that she did anything, onlly speculation.

Her family borrowed over $1,000,000 for her defense she was proved innocent by a system with everything to gain by a conviction. If you read any portion of the prosecutors case or the review of the forensics the case should have never been brought to court. The prosecutor has already been censored for his mishandling of The Monster of Florence Case wherein he fabricated evidence and became the star of another media circus. His behavior towards Knox and Sollecito was bizzare and he got wild suppositions entered as evidence. These two college kids met about ten days before the murders neither had ever had so much as a traffic ticket and we are to believe they morphed into sexual sadists and murderers in a freaking week. Give me a break. I guess Emile Zola should have left Dreyfus to rot and Dreyfus been gagged as to his experiences.

Not being convicted by a jury does not mean that the defendant was found innocent. That's why it's guilty and not guilty. Make sense? I think what we can all agree on is that the police investigation was botched entirely. The evidence that was a smoking gun in the original trial was later discarded because of possible contamination. Because there wasn't enough of the sample left, it couldn't be tested again. In a word, the most important piece of evidence which would have attested to Knox's guilt, or lack thereof, couldn't be examined due to the botched investigation. Knox was declared not guilty because what wasn't botched wasn't enough to convince a jury of her guilt, not because he was necessarily innocent.

Let's all hope the same happens to you T-Bone, so that we can listen to you say how you were railroaded and it isn't fair. You seem to be forgetting that the primary evidence against her was DNA that was mis-handled by the police and found inadmissible. If you followed the trial and appeals, much of the news media showed a great deal of skepticism about the evidence and the case the police and prosecutor put together.

Brookelin...I agree with you 100% what proof do we have to make her a criminal ,once the court found her with insuficient evidence .....Imagine those of you, passing judgement how would you react in a foreign country in that situation ...?

She really isn't making millions off of someone who was murdered. She is making money out of the fact that she was accused and imprisoned for 4 years of her young life for a crime she was acquitted of.
